I'd just like to know how everyone ranks all the Bond movies. Here's how I rank them, excluding unofficial Bond movies.

From Russia With Love
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
The Living Daylights
The World Is Not Enough
You Only Live Twice
Dr. No
Licence To Kill
For Your Eyes Only
Goldeneye
Thunderball
The Spy Who Loved Me
Goldfinger
Octopussy
Tomorrow Never Dies
Live And Let Die
Diamonds Are Forever
The Man With The Golden Gun
A View To A Kill
Moonraker

Heh, I had to move "You Only Live Twice" to #5, I just remembered how good it was.

With so many good Bond films existing it's difficult to put them into any order, can I just say!

The truly, TRULY awful ones were:

Diamonds Are Forever - filmed at the height of tackiness and film on location in the world's tackiest cities!

A View To A Kill - Oh dear, an aging Roger Moore wearing jeans at one point. No offense dear boy, but I think it was a mistake to let him on the set!

I loved the other ones, EVEN Moonraker! There have been far worse Bond films than that and I really don't see why people have a problem with it. In fact, I enjoyed it and have the poster up on my wall!

Also, why do people have a problem with OHMSS? It wasn't bad at all! The story was good, the acting was good and the ending I still can't watch with both eyes open because it fills me wth sadness!

How can we put these films in order except if you have joint 1sts, 2nds etc...

2. From Russia With Love (9/10)
3. The Living Daylights (9/10)
4. The World Is Not Enough (8/10)
5. You Only Live Twice (8/10)
6. Licence To Kill (8/10)
7. Dr. No (7/10)
8. Thunderball (7/10)
9. The Spy Who Loved Me (7/10)
10. For Your Eyes Only (7/10)
11. Goldeneye (6/10)

12. Goldfinger (5/10)
13. Octopussy (4/10)
14. Tomorrow Never Dies (4/10)
15. Live And Let Die (4/10)
16. The Man With The Golden Gun (3/10)
17. Diamonds Are Forever (3/10)
18. A View To A Kill (2/10)
19. Moonraker (1/10)

I also would like to expand on this list by asking who everyone's favorite Bonds (and Bond villains) are in order of best to worst. My list is:

1. Timothy Dalton
2. George Lazenby
3. Sean Connery
4. Pierce Brosnan
5. Roger Moore

I'm a bit too tired to post the Bond villain list yet, so I'll save it for tomorrow.

Amen to Jaws! I am not even going attempt olympic ratings, lest the Brosnan federation tries to make a deal with me to put the Connery federation over in the next survey!

Yikes! This is too hard. Can you possibly narrow the scope? Best in terms of fight sequences maybe...or best acting?

All the movies as far as I am concerned have moments that are truly wonderful, and yes, they all have moments where you have to scratch your head and wonder what the director was doing when that scene was filmed.

(Hi by the way. I am new. Nice to be here.)

top 6:

Thunderball
The spy who loved me
Goldfinger
OHMSS
Tommorrow never dies
From russia with love

honourable mentions:

Goldeneye....would have been in the top 3 if only the score wasnt so s***

The living daylights....needed a more menacing villian with a more evil scheme

Dr no

Moonraker...could have been in the top 6 if not for some silly moments

BOTTOM OF THE HEAP>>>BUT STILL ENTERTAINING:

LTK....not bondian enough

For your eyes only...the score brings it down o couple of notches and the ending is quite underwhelming

TMWTGG....looks a bit cheap and dated and has one cheering for Lee's Scaramanga!

DAF....connery looks fat and old and the movie has too american a feel

AVTAK....old roger was a bit too old...GREAT song and score, however!

Okay, I've put this off long enough.

Here is how my list stands as of 22 February 2002 4:51pm CST:
[unorder][#]Goldfinger[#]Thunderball[#]The World Is Not Enough[#]From Russia With Love[#]Live And Let Die[#]On Her Majesty's Secret Service[#]The Living Daylights[#]Dr. No[#]The Man With The Golden Gun[#]You Only Live Twice[#]Tomorrow Never Dies[#]For Your Eyes Only[#]Goldeneye[#]The Spy Who Loved Me[#]Diamonds Are Forever[#]Licence To Kill[#]Moonraker[#]A View To A Kill[#]Octopussy[/unorder]

Wow, those choices were painful, but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't the fourteen movies that deserved it into my top ten. And zencat will be happy to know that Moonraker moved up a place when I watched it again at his insistance that it was really a fine Bond movie.
