A week or two ago, I was bored and recorded all 19 gunbarrel sequences onto a tape and listened to them to see how much they differed. What a collection.

My personal favorites: Thunderball, TMWTGG, TSWLM, FYEO, TLD, LTK and GoldenEye.
The worst: Dr. No, Moonraker and TND.

You ought to try this for yourself, it's kind of interesting to the hear the variations. Each composer definietly has their own sound.
As someone else mentioned in another topic, Arnold's gun barrels are a tad weak.
What do you folks think?

Pictures are cached on your PC, so they only load once, I doubt it has a significant drag on the load times, espeacially if DSL is slow, try looking at the server. If its your own, see about upgrades, if CBn is hosted, try mailing your hostmaster. I've only been here a few days, and the site has been painfully slow (why I thought my sig didnt matter, for those few people who disable caching).

Maybe its got too much junk on it, ie, very old news, features, etc etc. Then again, this is coming from super neat Sion Hanzl, who used to deleted any news older than 3 days on NewsPro, just for the hell of FTP tidyness :)

I'll go with that, Level007, but you might want to post the idea in its own subject so everybody sees it.

Good idea. It might get lost amongst the JPGs. LOL :-D

Hi there!

wow you are talking about one of my most favourite Bond element -> GUNBARRELS

I love them all, every has got its own style which matches to the film atmosphere, to the title song and even to the soundtrack of the film.

I 've got one skill: I can guess the film title only listen by the first 3 seconds of the music of a gunbarrel with closed eyes!

So I made a bet in school 7 years ago and I got a wonderful price! :)

My favourite would probably be FYEO, probably followed by LTK.

I don't think it's so much the bandwidth Parasyte (especially if your image is hosted on your own server like yourself and mine), but it's the sheer on-screen size that breaks up the topic's readability?

Me too Renard, I can tell someone which film it is from listening to the Gun Barrel sequence, I suppose you have to have a great liking for the music of the movies as it is directly linked to the style of the gun barrel music.

Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have found our winner for the "world's biggest signature graphics" award (also known as the "clog up the forums with stuff" award")

Congratulations! :-D

In honour of this spectacular win, the award has been renamed in your honour to "the parasite award" :-)

Only kidding... Cool graphics BTW.

I remember discussing this back in like November, and I still believe the best are LTK b/c it sounds very epic-y, TSWLM b/c of its implied urgency, FYEO b/c of its signature of the time period, and TWINE b/c it sounds the coolest.
I wouldn't say any are the worst, except all of Connery's (except YOLT) are pretty repetitive...but I don't think they were expecting the series to live to 2002 so they probably didn't see a need for change.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but takes ten-thousand times the bandwidth.

I've never reallly had a problem with Arnod's take on the gunbarrel music. Though I do prefer the more electronic disco-ish sound of TWINE(does that make sense?).

As for the others, I've always liked LTK, just cause its so different. The Barry gunbarrels never fail to get you in the mood for a great adventure :)

Hi all

it appears to me that the site is really slow since one or two months. I think that we should try to stop with the "image signature" for a period essay and see if it s better. I know some are butiful, but they are also too big. Personnaly i have DSL and it s stills slow, and i think that we lose lot of time in waiting that the page arrive.

SOmeone agree with me ?

Thank you for the kind offer, Level007. I may take you up on it someday.
About Arnold's gun barrels, I soppose "weak" was a poor word choice. I just find TND's very boring after Goldeneye's. Also, they sound incomplete to me for some reason.
I really liked TWINE's, but feel that it does not fit the movie very well. I think it has a cool kind of spacy feel to it and would sound great with Moonraker.
