I know this isn't a serious thread ( of course it maybe for some), but I was wondering why Mcfarland Toys doesn't do the Bond action figure line and hope that they will do the Casino Royale ( if we ever get a Bond actor)figures.

It seems like such a natural fit for Mcfarland to do figures based on the Bond films. They could do a whole series just on the different Bond actors.

The Sideshow figures are nice but pricey and a little limited in appeal to some extent. The last batch of small figures were crap and I can't remember who did them, but they were terrible.

So my question, why doesn't Mcfarland do the Bond line and any roumors that they may get the contract for Casino Royale?

I'm assuming that the reason McFarlane toys aren't doing Bond figures is because Sideshow has the license. There's also the possibility that they aren't interested. Add to that their figures are more like mini-statues. Not very posable.

No, McFarlane figurines aren't really very posable, but so what? It isn't as though the Sideshow figures have been widely marketed to kids as "action" figures. It would be interesting to see some really high-quality Bond figurines.

McFarlane Toys aren't exactly marketed to kids, either. Besides, no kids today will buy Bond action figures or "statues"-only we will.

I know, that was bad! Wait until you see the movie, though! Imagine what Tarentino would have done with that. Imagine people passing out in the theater

I would love to see a 3.75 inch action figure line, but not by McFarlane. Hasbro would be good, as would Mattel. Toy Biz could do a 6 inch line that collectors would love, but you would have to get a chainsaw to take it out of hte package. I'm not saying Sideshow has done a bad job, but 1) I can never find them anywhere except on e-bay and 2) The price is somewhere in the $50-75 dollar range if I do find them. I made a list for a 3.75 inch figure line back when Sideshow offered us to give our input, hopefully someone saw that (Hasbro, Mattell) and wants to get the ball rolling, otherwise, it looks like I am making Bond out of GI-Joe figures.

Of all the action figure companies that have produced Bond figures, Sideshow is the one that has exploited their potential the best. They're not perfect but, they've come as close to what Kenner/Hasbro did with their Batman:TAS line at its peak-release an inordinate amount of Batman figures in different garb(even though most of them he's never used in either the comics or the animated series). It's probably never going to happen(and our wallets thank us for it)at this late date but, a company like Hasbro or Mattel could've released 3.75 Bond figures in every different outfit he's worn in 20 different films, along with the women, villains, and allies. Throw in the vehicles, a few playsets here and there, and you would have had a set that would rival what Hasbro did with their 3.75 G.I.Joe line, and bankrupt us all, and loving it.

I like the Sideshow figures , have about a dozen of them ( wallet says "ouch")and they have done the best job so far. I think Mcfarland would do a good job with nonposeable figures. A poseable line would be cool. Always thought the interchangeable head idea would be a neat feature for any Bond figure line.
Anybody know who is in charge of marketing and licensing at Sony?

I think it would be really cool if McFarlane Toys did a line of Casion Royale figures. I don't own any figures from McFarlane Toys myself, but I've seen them and they are all done very well. After all, Casino Royale is said to be a really different Bond film than the last couple films, so lets kick of a new era with a new a new style of toys.

That and and I wouldn't want to see Hasbro or Mattel to make a James Bond action action figure that transforms into a Martini cup. (Vodka and Olive sold separately)

As Sideshow only produce the 12" figures, and the 1:18 scale statues, it would be great if McFarlane could get the licence to the 9" action figures (similar to their "Star Wars Unleashed" line).
That way they could release 20 different variants of James Bond, in poses from 20 different films, as well as the villains, henchmen, Bond Girls, Mi6, the list would be (almost) endless!
I know I would buy them! I have 5 Sideshow 12" 007 figures, and 3 Action Man 12" 007 figures (see attachment), and they're all great, but I would much rather prefer smaller action figures of equal detail. They wouldn't take up as much space, and they definately wouldn't cost as much!
