Apart from the Bonds and Bond spin off/spoof films...

Buying your favourite films on DVD is a bit like capturing a butterfly. Mounted, on the wall, it is pretty but not as nice as catching sight of it, occasionally, in the wild (i.e. TV and cinema re-releases).

However, my favourite films all contain elements or moments or images or words that I respond to on a personal level, for whatever reason. The films listed below are not necessarily what I consider "the best" or "good", but they have got under my skin.

I think also think time and re-watchability is an important qualities. Away from the hype, the fashion and one's own mood on first viewing, the following films endure and mature on repeated viewings. Recent cinema films will take a couple of years to percolate through to this list.

There are many more films I like but a non-exhaustive list of my favourites;
i) at the moment
ii) from what I can remember
iii) and in no particular order but listed with director (optional)
is as follows:

1) Twelve Angry Men

I had trouble liking the first Bridget Jones as I found it "too British"..but once I got to like that one, I saw the second, which I found ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS. Agree with you on Shazza.. she cracks me up. :)
