So what kind of spy movies do you all think are better? Do you think the close to the real world ones like The Hunt For Red October, Clear And Present Danger, The Sum Of All Fears, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Russia House, The Fourth Protocal and In The Line Of Fire are better. Or do you all think the super spy ones like James Bond, Our Man Flint, Mission Impossible, XxX, The Man From Uncle and The Avengers are better. Do any of you think the close to the real world ones are too boring?

Spy & Fed Thriller
Air Force One
By Dawn's Early Light
The Siege
The Hunt For Red October
Patriot Games
Clear And Present Danger
The Sum Of All Fears
NetForce
In The Company Of Spies
Spy Games
The Spy Who Came In From The Cold
The Looking Glass War
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Smiley's People
A Perfect Spy
The Russia House
The Tailor Of Panama
The Constant Gardener
The Day Of The Jaclal
The Fourth Protocal
The Jackal
Little Nikita
In The Line Of Fire
Guarding Tess

Super Spy Movies
Never Say Never Again
Mission Impossible
Mission Impossible 3(should be in production or to satart very soon)
The Avengers
XxX
XxX: State Of The Union
Casino Royale
Our Man Flint
In Like Flint
The Silencers
The Ambushers

NOTE: MI:2 is not listed, because I consider it more of a John Woo movie, and the offical James Bond movies it has a area of it own.

I find the Ryans very boring (and very silly) apart from CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER, which is a terrific film. IN THE LINE OF FIRE is good, and the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLEs have their moments. Not a fan of anything else mentioned.

But why has no one mentioned the king of the spy franchises, the Jason Bourne series? :)

The only reason I didn't mention the Jason Bourne series, how I see it, is it can't make up it's mine of what it wants to be a close to the real spy world type movie or a super spy type movie. I don't know about everybody else on this forum. But that is how I see that movie series.

Great list Syndicate. How about The Little Drummer Girl starring Dianne Keaton and the Devil's Own with Brad Pitt? Ronin is my favorite. I really don't know why they can't do a more down to earth Bond movie. You can keep a lot of the elements (action, car chases and beautiful women) just cut the ultra techno junk and I think we would have a hit on our hands.

How about Spy Game. It must be considered a spy movie. I just saw it and it was excellent. One of Brad Pitt's best roles.

That's one of my favorite movies of all time. I think I gravitate a bit more to the serious spy movies.
