?

Each opinion expressed is that of many different Bond fans on here. Why not join in and add some of your own reviews?

They are. Every James Bond movie is being reviewed - you can add your reviews in any of the Countdown threads linked above. I collect the reviews for each movie and post them on the main page periodically. Licence To Kill will be coming in a few weeks.

Unfortunately not, as Jeff Marshall (the artist) has currently not created any for the Pierce Brosnan films.

It would be interesting to see a new thread showing the final average scores out of ten for each film, perhaps in a neatly compact league table (when all the scores are finished, of course).

Difficult to do however as new members will continue to vote in all twenty polls. I am glad to see the final one--Die Another Day--now up on the main page. Everyone's cooperation and reviews has made this a pretty successful series in my opinion. In a few years or so, I'll go back and add in even more reviews from members that were missed the first time. :cooltongue:

So to all the members who haven't added their reviews yet, keep them coming!

I've really enjoyed reading these reviews, good to see people defending widely panned efforts like Moonraker and not everyone saying Goldfinger is the best! Makes my opinions seems less odd! I'll start reviewing the films soon, just neee some free time!

I'm always curious to see how people rank the Bond films, so I took about 20 minutes to average the polls that Qwerty added to see what the consensus has been thus far.

Here are the averages (out of 10) as of June 3, 2007:

1) Casino Royale (2006) 9.41
2) From Russia With Love 9.32
3) The Spy Who Loved Me 9.11
4) Goldfinger 9.10
5) On Her Majesty's Secret Service 8.64
6) The Living Daylights 8.41
7) Live and Let Die 7.48
8) Dr. No 7.41
9) Licence To Kill 7.33
10) GoldenEye 7.31
11) Thunderball 7.28
12) For Your Eyes Only 7.26
13) Octopussy 7.14
14) Tomorrow Never Dies 6.83
15) You Only Live Twice 6.52
16) The Man With The Golden Gun 6.21
17) The World Is Not Enough 6.07
18) Diamonds Are Forever 5.90
19) Moonraker 5.81
20) Never Say Never Again 5.03
21) A View To A Kill 4.90
22) Casino Royale (1967) 4.08
23) Die Another Day 4.00

Hopefully I didn't mess up anywhere!

Caveat: Some films were rated a lot and some not very much at all. For example TSWLM and GF were only rated 9 and 10 times respectively, whereas OHMSS and LTK were rated 74 and 64 times respectively. So, this isn't a completely accurate description of what CBn members think of the films...it is just for fun. :cooltongue:

Interesting, Richmond Spy. As you say, some have received a lot more votes than others, but nonetheless. I'm kind of surprised to see so many high votes for Licence to Kill.

True, I was also surprised to see LALD that high. Also, I expected TB to be much higher, although it is only .2 away from #7. DAD can't even beat CR'67? I found that to be the most shocking... :cooltongue:

While I think that most of the review pages are fair and balanced, I think that the pages for FYEO and TWINE are too slanted on the negative side. I personally love those two movies. But, then again I love them all.

But, most biased of all is Die Another Day. That page was just hateful. While it's not one of my favorites, that page is SO biased. I like to see all of the movies in a positive light.

Also biased negatively is You Only Live Twice.

No bias was intended one way or the other for all of the films. Those articles were taken from the reviews that were available at the time of posting - it is a simply a collection of opinions.

You're encouraged to add in your own reviews to the corresponding threads if you like.

And DAF is biased negatively too.

Just because you love every film doesn't mean we all share the same sentiment. For me, yes, I love For Your Eyes Only, and enjoy YOLT thoroughly, but TWINE and DAF are pretty boring and bland for the most part, and just run through every tired motion they've got. DAD is another whole story.

So it's not a matter of bias - it's a general consensus. These review articles exist so the forum goers here, and no one else, get a chance to express their views. You can't get much less biased than that.

But then why do the "forum goers" hate the excellent For Your Eyes Only and The World Is Not Enough? And the decent Die Another Day, You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever?
It baffles me.

Funny, the films that I feel are the lamest; DAD, AVTAK, and for Sean DAF or NSNA,I still love. I pop in DAD fairly often, and same with AVTAK.
I guess I am biased in that I like all the films.

It's all a matter of opinion. Opinions are meant to be disagreed with and discussed. There are tons of strong followers of The World is not Enough on here and an equal amount that would categorize it as one of the worst films ever.

It's no really a consensus. Someone pick those select reviews, right? So that, technically, is not a consensus.
