I have heard that Walt DisneyWorld is far, far better than Disneyland, Apparently you can fit the entire Disneyland resort in the parking lot for Magic Kingdom at Disneyworld.

At Disneyworld you get several parks too:

Magic Kingdom,
EPCOT,
Disney-MGM and
Animal Kingdom.

Oh and Downtown Disney too were all the clubs and shops are.

I like Big Thunder Mountain - went on it in Paris and Tokyo, so I presume it'll also be at the Disneyland you're off to, TortillaFactory. Most of the attractions I visited were worthwhile, but this was the one that really stood out, for some reason. It's a rollercoaster, yes, but not one that seems geared to providing the fastest, most furious, most acrobatic, scary and vomit-inducing rock n' roll express to fear and nausea imaginable (which I'd hate). Although it seems there was a death and several injuries on this ride a while back:

The park may be better, but DisneyWorld in August is absolutely unbearable. Far too hot and humid, and way too many people.

I think Disneyland has more atmosphere.

I think the best time to go is October - it's still often very hot there and the crowds are very big, but not monumental.

Are you headed to LA?

If so, the CBn crew is available.

No...Really. :)

I went to DisneyWorld in October, November and December, 2001 when my girlfriend at the time was a lifeguard at The Boardwalk Hotel and could get me free admission into the parks.

Those were the three months right after the 9/11 attacks so the parks were virtually empty which meant that there were no (to none) lines for the attractions.

My favorite park at DisneyWorld is probably Animal Kingdom, closely followed by Disney-MGM. I think the International village is cool at EPCOT too....in my opinion Magic Kingdom is the weakest of the DisneyWorld parks.

They have a stunt show at DisneyWorld based on Indiana Jones.

I really like the safari adventure at Animal Kingdom as well as the BUGS LIFE 3-D feature.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys...as it happens, Big Thunder Mt is one of the few that we skipped last time we went, in 2000. I'll check it out this time. I've been on both Indiana Jones and Space Mountain, and was rather underwhelmed, but I loved Splash Mountain to death.

I don't think we'll be in LA proper (much to my chagrin, since I plan to move there in a few years), since it's easier to fly into John Wayne Airport than LAX on the airline we're taking.

Wish Disney World was an option, but, alas. Anyway I'm scared of cockroaches. Calling them "palmetto bugs" doesn't make it any better.

I've never been a fan of 'DisneyWorld'...

Sounds too much like a corporate giant to me...

This doesn't really give any insight into Disneyland, but when I saw Disney World's Epcot Center last year, I went to the England section hoping to find some Bond memorabilia, but alas, the gift shops were filled mainly with Beatles stuff, which though loosely related to Bond via a mention in Goldfinger and via McCartney and Martin's Live and Let Die music, wasn't quite what I was hoping for.
