mod note: SPLIT TOPIC
Don't know if the LA gang is still game, but Mrs. Bon-san and I would love to be in on a rematch. Our schedule is open each evening from August 6 through August 12.
LMK!
And if it's not do-able, that's ok too.

August 12th seems to work! Mark it down on your calendar.
We'll make specific plans a little later.

Hey Wade, it would be awesome if you'd be able to join us! (The 12th is a Friday night, you know... not many people have work on Saturday). So the date is Friday, August 12th for sure! (don't have a time yet will post that asap, probably will be like 7pm). I hope this is enough "warning" for you to be able to make it! It would be great to see you again.

Whoo Hoo, I'm ready!
Does Lazenby still live in LA?
Could we bribe him to participate? I'd bring the Foster's.

Well, I am back from vacation in So-Cal ( sigh ), but at least I'm back at my computer and logged on to CBn !
After days and days of stuffing my face at some of my old fave dining haunts, taking the little one to Disneyland, hitting the beach, and visiting with just about every relative I have in the known world, I put a nice punctuation mark on my trip by taking Mrs. Bon-san to La Casa del zencat y Athena for a little "007 Scene It" get-together.
What fun! It was great to meet Zencat and Athena, Bryce, Problem Eliminator, Ry, Matt, Collin, and Gabe (did I miss anyone?). We thoroughly enjoyed listening to all the "shop talk" from the many folks in the bizz. There was delectable food and drink aplenty. And the game was a riot. Colin and Ry, your competitiveness was hilarious! After many hard fought rounds, it came down to a splendidly close finish between Collin and yours truly, with Collin taking the crown (again!). Well done, Collin! My wife would like to extend congrats to all the players, for their "insane knowledge". I would like to extend thanks to all the players for showing my wife that there are indeed "others". Prizes were handed out by our hosts, and I got a cool TND crew cap. Right on!
The games were fun, but the highlight of the night for me was a guided tour of zencat's incredible James Bond book collection. What a breathtaking experience that was. Thumbing through one of two known copies of The Killing Zone--Wow! Drooling over (but not onto ) a special collector's edition of OHMSS signed by Fleming himself--holy ! Having my hands on a practically mint Jonathan Cape First Edition of Casino Royale in a pristine dust jacket--gaaaahhhh.......! Taking in the whole lot of what has to be one of the very best James Bond Book collections in the world--priceless. Thanks a lot for that John!
There was also a double-secret bit of Bond-dom revealed to us lucky guests. Way to go zencato.
A final word on the incomparable graciousness of our hosts. We were very touched by the warm welcoming into your wonderful home. It is an exeedingly rare thing to actually be treated like a guest of honor. It is a gesture I won't forget. Thanks, John and Athena! We had a great, great time.

Thank you for the kind words, Bon-san. It was truly our pleasure to meet you and Mrs. Bon-san. So glad you were able to work us into your CA schedule. It was fun night. Great game play and shop talk and making new friends. Hope to see you both back here soon.
And congrats to Collin who, once again, emerged the Scene It champ. Will he "three-peat"? Stay turned.

Grand night it was.
Bon-San (and Mrs. Bon-San) - A great pleasure to meet you and chat.
Zen and Athena, great little get together and the "sterling service" was just that. Also glad, albeit at the 11th hour, that 004 could make it. He quite enjoyed himself.
See you both in New York.
Anytime you're in LA Bon-San, you're always both welcome.

Hey Bon-san! Thank you for all the nice things you said about us. I'm so glad that you enjoyed all the shop talk, LA Bonding, the food and the Scene it 007 game. That REALLY was a fun game we all played... LOL. St Penisburg!
I'm glad I had a chance to meet you and Mrs Bon-son and if you two are ever in Los Angeles again, let us know.
