Would you but the whole set again just for the cover art? What would you do with your old set?

It depends on how cool the cover art is. I have a weakness for original poster art and original logos. The only way they could hook me into buying a new set would be if they used the original art in some kind of cool uniform 40th anniversary set. But I will probably wait for whatever set contains BOND 20.

I could always sell my old set on eBay, or keep it as a "collectible." I have, I think, 3 complete sets on VHS and a complete set on LaserDisc. I know, madness.

Zencat you truly are a fan! That's a hell of a collection. I have the complete VHS collection and I'm slowly finishing off my DVD collection. But I'm not buying box sets of the DVD's. I'm just buying individuals as I go.

I've got the US TWINE, the extras are disappointing on them. I'm considering getting quite a few R2 for certain films just because they seem to have the best features.

Obviously this boxed set is being released to capitalise on the 40th anniversary of Bond, so it a bit disappointing that there is only to be 19 Bond movies represented.
After all, Bond 20 is the actual movie that will be highlighting this 40 year period of celluloid history.
The cool metal box should have enough space for 20 Bond DVDs, so that when Bond 20 is released on DVD it can be included in the box.
I have a suspicion that another 'Special Edition' boxed set will be released to include all 20.

Which SUCKS!! :)

Also, if anyone is interested, a DVD users forum has created a petition to MGM asking that consumers should be given the option of purchasing the box separately.

I've signed it as I am very annoyed with MGM. Although I have none of the DVD's, it is just a scam for them to make more money out of us.

Exactly like the point I always make about the Cover Art. They should make available the new cover art to buy seperately so that peoples collections look like collections instead of having odd cover art.

I believe the organisers of this petition will submit it to MGM by e-mail to solicit a response.
I've been told that MGM will provide an official response, which is the standard operating procedure of their Public Relations office.

Wow. Looks pretty darn snazzy. But woah, what a price. Especially for those who probably have bought the whole set already, I know quite a few people who have.

It appears that they've changed the coverart for the DVD's, the spines are vastly different. I wonder if the front graphics are as well?

Cause your image has died:

I've checked my R2 collection of all 19 DVDs and I can't see any differences between those and the ones illustrated in the box set pictures!!!

I too am a bit p*ssed off with MGM though. They promised people who bought all 19 discs would get a free collectors box way back in May 2000. They since dropped the offer and gave away postcards and storyboards instead =(
I payed way less than

Doesn't it annoy you that they've changed the cover's again (well, at least the spine)!

This is why I was cautious about buying the set on DVD. This mean's possibly that the Bond 20 cover art will be different to the ones you've already bought.

Do you think you can buy all the new covers (just the covers) so that your set looks complete instead of having odd ones as they have different covers?

I'm a pit p'd off because I'm one of the idiots who already has the whole set on DVD. The metal case is great, I wish I could buy just that on it's own and stick in the ones I've got. I remember when GE and TND came out they had reversible covers, so that they would fit with the whole collection, but they didn't do it for TWINE (I don't think)
