Where did you get your copy of Thunderball?

Where are other places to buy a copy?

Is Thunderball in print where you live?

Having troubles finding Thunderball? Post here.

This was one of the last Fleming's I first got. The paperbacks are quite easy to find, and then I recently got the bookclub versions as well.

Would love to someday own the UK 1st.

Again, I picked up my copy from a local car-boot sale, probably for 10p or something silly like that.

Would love to someday own the UK 1st.

Who wouldn't :)

I think that may be the best of the UK 2002 Penguin covers.

How I mxed up Thunderball and Diamonds Are Forever I don't know. It's the Diamonds Are Forever cover, not the Thunderball cover that I like best.

I agree with you Qwerts, but unfortunately its also the only one I managed to damage while carefully (like the others) pulling off the shop price sticker on the back of the book. But in this case the shiny book surface pealed away with the sticker. :)

I hate when that happens - sticker prices like such can be a pain.

I saw this thread and thought that I would let all of those who live in the U.S. know that just about all of Fleming's Bond novels can be found at just about any Barnes & Noble bookstore. That's where I've gotten mine so far, although they are a bit on the pricey side as far as paperbacks are concerned.

I suppose you are speaking of the recent Penguin reprints which retail for $12-$14?

Those would be the ones.

I'm actually surprised at how quickly they restock those titles as well. I bought the last Casino Royale on the shelf a couple of months back, and I went back a couple of days later, and they had already gotten a new shipment of that novel back up on the shelf.

Yes, it's finally nice to see some Bond books available right at any of the big book stores out there - B&N, Borders, etc... They were easy to collect when they first came out and it seems they still are.

It is nice to be able to just get a Bond book whenever you want. I might be making my way back up there soon to get another one. I'm struggling with Live and Let Die right now, so I might just go ahead and skip ahead and re-read Moonraker.

I recommend you join the Blades Reading Club if you don't mind skipping 'round a bit as were on Thunderball. :)

Feel free to add reviews to the threads for all the Fleming books before that!

I loved Live and Let Die but maybe it helped that i was reading most of it while on a beautiful beach while on holidays. The sound of the waves and the wonderful sunset made me really appreciate the ambiance of the book esp. the later third set in Florida and Jamaica.

Part of it even makes it into Licence to Kill the film.

It is a book best read with patience and one chapter per day.

It is definitely a novel that takes patience to read. I think I'll skip it and come back to it later. Maybe I'll try it again if I ever manage to get back to the beach, since reading it there seemed to make reading it easier for you. Of course, who knows when I'll actually get back to the beach, it's been a while. :)

You'll make it back to the beach one day! The last 1/3 of the book certainly ups the ante in terms of action and suspense.

Are you UK or US based?

U.S. based.

I know I'll get back to the beach someday. I just don't think that it's going to be this summer. Hopefully next year. Maybe then I'll try reading it again. :)
