If it were rated r and had Angelina showing her Jolies in all their glory, I would go.  But, as a PG-13, I will skip it

Thats what I orginally thought... but she is still so damn sexy in it though.

I saw the trailer at Revenge of the Sith...it opened with the whole "have you been a bad boy?" dominatrix thing, and there were TONS of little kids in that theater. I wonder how their parents explained that later. :) (Though I guess all things considered I should worry more about how the young'uns dealt with Anakin being chopped up and burned alive...)

Mr. and Mrs. Smith was an enjoyable, but ultimately forgettable romp that makes for good entertainment. The action gets ridiculous and stupid as the film climaxes, but the banter between Angelina and Brad is worth the price of admission.

PG-13 is PG-13 and typically the previews are approved for all ages. So no parent should have had issues with that.

There was a nice little lighthearted spy series in the mid-90s which was called MR AND MRS SMITH. It starred Scott Bakula and Maria Bello as spies who pretend to be married while on missions.

Saw Mr and Mrs Smith the other night. It certainaly makes up for the fact that there is no Bond film for 2005, due to the action and sex.

I never did hear 'Nobody Des It Better' though :) . I belive some one on CBn said that the song did appear in the film.

It's a remix by "8mm". It's on the soundtrack. I'm not sure when it's played during the movie.

Hmmm, i don't know - maybe if you like the Brosnan era Bond you'll like this, but its not the same as the Sean/Roger era which was more espionage rather than OTT gadgets and explosions. Personally i thought it was more Tomb Raider than Bond - with the obvious Angelina Jolie influence!! - but they were more jokeshop spies (ie. with the gadgets and weapons hidden around the house) than 007.

PG-13 is PG-13

lol. To paraphrase Adam Carolla when someone attempted to rationalize his non-fear of death by saying "hey, death is...it's death!": "You know, you can say that about anything. 'Tapioca is tapioca!' It really doesn't mean anything."

and typically the previews are approved for all ages. So no parent should have had issues with that.

Not sure about your logic here. There were kids who looked to be about four, five, or six, and if I had kids that age I'd certainly have a problem with them seeing that. Then again, I wouldn't take them to see a PG-13 movie in the first place.

It seems like lots of "approved for all audiences" movie trailers these days are quite racy indeed - maybe it's just my sheltered upbringing, but really. I think that many parents might justly have a BIG problem with lots of movie trailers - I know that's one reason why my parents never took me to the theater much as a youngster. It's one thing being a teenager and being equipped to understand those kinds of things, but really...a four-year-old?

My point, I guess, is that parents shouldn't be taking little kids to see PG-13 films. But that has little to do with Mr. and Mrs. Smith, so forget I mentioned it.

It's an entertaining movie. Nothing good nor bad. Somewhere in the middle I'd wager. It dragged on towards the end, but I guess you can say that about every movie including the Bonds.

Brad Pitt doing the shimmy when he exited the vehicle in the desert. Damn, that was funny. The whole theatre I was in laughed at that move.

What's the attraction with Jolie anyway? She just seems bland to me. She's just a boring little twit.

Just caught this, entertaining, enjoyed it. From the mixed reviews I had sort of prepared myself not too expect too much from it - but maybe I was still disappointed. Just little stuff. Plot things. Uh...

God. I might be getting arrogant as a writer.

Anyway, some of my favourite moments were from the counselling sessions, and can I just say... Angie throwing the knife into Brad's leg.... how MI6 and you... YOU! was that? :)

Caught the film this past weekend. Very enjoyable. I'd go see a Mr.&Mrs.Smith 2 if one were made.

I did not hear the "Nobody Does It Better" remix. What scene was it played during?

I thought this was a great movie.

Angelina Jolie sizzles sex appeal...but I wish she didn't pout too much. Her lip's are already extended past her chin.

I much preferred her in this than 'Womb Trader', sorry 'Tomb Raider'.

Am I crazy, or this this a remake of an earlier film?.

I haven't read all of this thread so please don't hurt me. :)

Cheers,

Ian

The title has bee taken from the 1941 Alfred Hitchccock film Mr and Mrs Smith, starring Carole Lombard and Robert Montgomery. The storyline is completly difrent from the original move though.

One of Hitch's weaker efforts in my opinion.

Thank you my friend. :)

Is there another film where the two stars are chatting to the camera?.

I know there is but I just cannot remember the film.

Cheers,

Ian

A very good friend of mine made the knives and modified all of the guns for the film. Here is a link to the page on his site with some of the stuff. http://www.tjscustomgunworks.com/MMS/
