Or Hugo Drax?
I could see both these men shipping their brats off to Eton.
Very intriguing bit of news, Dlibs. I wonder which book this character will be in?

Goldfinger's son maybe?

Can't be Drax. He was roughly the same age as Bond. He was a soldier in WW2 anyway. This is who I thought of first. Can't really be Goldfinger either. He didn't move to England till 1937 and he was born in 1917 which makes him only 3 years older than Bond according to the 1920 birth year.
I think we're going to find that its either someone from the films or that its a low-key henchmen from the novel such as Dr. Walter from Moonraker. My thoughts anyway. I'd love to know who

In SilverFin is a boy called Freddie Meyer. He is a German-Jew. Bond chats with him to practice his German.
Maybe there is a connection. But I don't know if you can count Max Meyer as a villain.

Perhaps this "future 007 villain" will turn up in a Higson book. Might not be a villain we've heard of in the Flemings or the films, etc.; for instance, it might just be that Tommy Chong's or Pritpal Nandra's father (or mother) is a baddie who wants to take over the world, as we'll find out in book three.
Or perhaps the son of a future villain is James Bond?

Well, all we know is that Higson mentioned that the son of a future 007 villain is in "SilverFin".

Possibly, but then why would he say something to the effect of "letting Bond fans" figure it out.
We need more clues
- The Max Meyer one is the most plausible one right now.

I love that Hisgon dropped this hint and I hope it's revealed in a future book. You know, after reading SilverFin, and especially after hearing Higson speak, I've really become a BIG fan of the Young Bond series. I now have a lot of confidence in IFP and the directions they are taking the literary Bond (much more than Eon and the cinematic Bond

In Moonraker is a man called Max Meyer. He is Drax metal broker and plays cards with him. They play against M and Bond. Meyer is a Jew.
In SilverFin is a boy called Freddie Meyer. He is a German-Jew. Bond chats with him to practice his German.
Maybe there is a connection. But I don't know if you can count Max Meyer as a villain.
I think that's an excellent guess.

I think Trempo's correct. Fits the description perfectly and makes perfect sense.

But can Meyer be considered a villain?
Thats what I was thinking, but then again there aren't many characters in the book that attend Eton. Really theres just Hellebore's gang, Bond and his 3 or so friends, Butcher, Meyer, and thats about it.
When I read Moonraker I didn't get the feeling that Meyer was a villain. An accomplice to a cheat in a game of cards more or less. I don't know...

Now, when did Dr No flee the Chineese Tongs?

Best guess is Tommy Chong is Dr No's son.
Now, when did Dr No flee the Chineese Tongs?
Late 1920s, but the the Tongs caught him later, perhaps early 1930s. While the connection is possible, assuming the boy is Bonds approximate age, Dr. No would have been in America at the time of birth, not Hong Kong, and No was from Peking (and I think, although don't quote me, that he spent some time in Shanghai) before going to the New York.

A quick thought:
Since SilverFin features a circus perhaps there is a Scaramanga connection.
Wasn't Red Grant from a circus background....or have I lost my marbles.
I think this Meyer character is the best guess. I got the impression we (Bond fans) were supposed to be able to catch it (ie not speculate).
