Best non-Bond Roger Moore movie, Rank 'em

1. Boat Trip (2002)
2. Spice World (1997)
3. The Quest (1996)
4. Fire, Ice & Dynamite (1990)
5. The Cannonball Run (1981)

6. Octopussy* (1983)

(*That's also a non-Bond movie for me :) )

Wow, this would be the first time I actually saw anyone say that they like Boat Trip.

At the moment I only remember The Wild Geese (1978), Revenge of the Pink Panther & Boat Trip.

I'm no going to say those are my top three. I'm just saying those are the movies I've seen lately.

In "The Wild Geese" Roger was really good. He seemed a lot cooler ,than in his Bond movies. When I watched him forcing that drug dealer to eat his own medicine and shooting his gorilla right in the middle of his forehead, I hoped we would have seen a lot of that kind of calm "badass" coolness in his Bond movies. At least a bit...

--The cannonball run now thats a classic but his other films are just as good.--

I can't say I liked the movie, too low-brow even for me, but the part where Roger is about to get in a fight was worth the admission price-

"I warn you...I'm Roger Moore!"

(Roger gets socked in the face)

Bullseye.
Probably the best Roger "Over the Top" performances.
He was quite good in Gold where he tried to be macho.

Completely agree with you about Bullseye! It was actually the very first Roger movie I saw as a child before I even watched his Bond movies, so to me it also has sentimental value. But what also made this movie special is that Roger plays in it together with one of his best friends, Michael Caine, and his daughter Deborah. Though it is slapstick and I can't say that slapstick comedy is my cut of tea, this one is extremely good. :)

The only non-bond films I've seen Moore in are Curse of The Pink Panther (little more than a glorifired, though funny, cameo), Seawolves (Moore essentially portraying Fleming's Bond, not film Bond), Cannonball Run (essentially another glorified cameo) and Bed & Breakfast (not a great movie, but had a good movie hiding in it).
I also saw him host a documentary on the history of Frankenstein.
I recommend Seawolves to any Bond fan who hasn't seen it (it also features several others connected with the Bond films series & not just actors).

01. The Man Who Haunted Himself 1970 - Roger's best acting role.

02. Crossplot 1969 - Bernard Lee's the bad guy!

03. North Sea Hijack - 1979

04. The Wild Geese - 1978

05. The Sea Wolves - 1980

My favourite non-Bond Moore film is definitely Bullseye! It is a very silly film, in the best possible way. Great fun from beginning to end.

I also enjoyed The Man Who Wouldn't Die a lot; the climax was terrific. Can't wait to catch it on TV again.

The Wild Geese is fun as well, but for me, the best part of the film is everything that goes on before the actual mission begins. I can't help but feel the action in the film is a little bit dull.

My top ten Roger Moore films

1. The Man Who Haunted Himself
2. Shout At The Devil
3. The Wild Geese
4. The Sea Wolves
5. Gold
6. Escape To Athena
7. The Cannonball Run
8. North Sea Hijack aka Ffolkes
9. Diane
10. The Miracle

One thing about Sir Roger is that he is a superb light comic actor. He also can do serious drama extremely well. It is a real shame he never really pushed himself but he has left a slew of decent non-Bond movies. I urge people who have only watched him as Bond to check out some of the movies on this list.
