I believe it was once said to be released for PS2, but never was in the end. (Long before the game came out.)

Actually, the game code was altered (whilst retaining the engine) and became Agent Under Fire. This is because the game would have been released in 2001 - two years after the film and EA decided it would date too much.

I must say TWINE on the N64 was underrated. A great game. :)

It was also going to be released fort he pc. I was hoping it would be releasd for PS2. No matter the year they should've carried on with it. TWINE for the PS1 looked crap thats why I didn't get it. It would be like TnD but in first person.

The World Is Not Enough on the PS1 never seems to be spoken about compared to the others. How does (for those who have it) like/dislike it?

:) I was quite dissapointed with TWINE. I thought the boat chase down the thames would have been a good level. but for some reason they had cut it short by involving some underground subway scene where you had to disarm a bomb. perhaps if EA was going to remake TWINE they would probably include the boat chase.

Actually wasn't it supposed to be released for PC as well in 2001 but that never happend either. TWINE had some good levels in there that followed the movie. I enjoyed "Night Watch" along with the underground silo. I liked that you could attach a silencer to the Walther whenever you felt like it.

I don't have it for the PS1, but I do have it for the 64 and I agree, it was underrated. My favorite thing about it is that you can fight bots in Multiplayer. The levels were very cool too. I used to practice my sniping abilities on the Air Base level where you have to catch a plane. The voice overs were awesome as well.

Really would've been nice to see it on PS2 or Xbox. The N64 version was pretty fun to play.

I remember reading about the PS2 version of TWINE and it was apparantly supposed to have additional levels and such. Shame it got cancel-zored.

The PS1 version was never a favorite of mine...mostly because I don't believe it had multiplayer and the N64 version controlled better, at least in my eyes.

Agreed. At least it had a somewhat fair amount of levels (14 if I remember correctly), but the more levels the better. I can always applaud GoldenEye 64 for that.

hahah!

No emotion whatsoever. One stand out is Valentin's line:

"Bring it, to me." - no emotion at all. His damn relative was killed, man!

And who can forget the opening bank level and Bond's droll voiceover?

"I'm here to see Lachez. The name's Bun..Jam..Bun...."

he can't even say Bond's name right, damn him. Sounds droll and muffled.

Gamespot at least seems to find some differences between the two versions (they seem to favor the N64 version):

They are both completely different games. In the same way that the console version of Nightfire and the PC version are completely different.

Thanks for the info guys, I own the PS version (not my fave game, but it is fun), I'll look for the N64 version in Ebay.

Happy New Year.

I found some information that may help.

I was looking through the computers at work for a game I knew didn't exist (long story) and came across an entry for the PS2 version. We have it listed as 'discontinued', but if you found a new copy, it'd be $19.99. If it was never produced...why do we have an SKU for it and everything? The mystery deepens!

The PSX version of TWINE was horrible, the N64 version, although nothing special, was miles ahead. GE still is, and probably always will be, the best 007 game.

U want the skinny? EA was developing TWINE for PS2 and PC usig the same game engine. They were adding new characters into TWINE game. It was canceled because by the time it would be released, the "newness" would have worn off the movie and the next movie would be anounced. The original material was moved into Agent Under Fire. I think it was the dumbist decision EA made. The graphics were some of the best id ever seen for PS2. And it looked to be more fun that AUF will ever be

The World is Not Enough would have been a great Playstation 2 game. The Nintendo 64 version is very fun, but the Playstation 1 version has pretty bad graphics. If it were on Playstation 2 with some additional levels and stuff it would have been awesome. Too bad it got cancelled though.

Well, according to the article I read they said that the PS2 version was cancelled

http://commanderbond.net/article/5

Anyways, I think that it's the same thing PS1 and PS2 as long as you have a memory card and a system.
