The book was created in 1960, so any actor of actress who lived then and up to the present is game for casting. Remember that you are making a relatively loyal adaption of the novel. [Consider casting for only specific story in the collection, or more than one naturally.]

I just think Topol was so perfect for the role of Columbo. I just always picture him when I read Risico.
For Judy Havelock I always picture the girl who appeared on the 1981 UK paperback edition. I think Erica Durance would be a good fit.
