Here's what Quentin Tarantino will be making now that they wouldn't let him do CASINO ROYALE:

Call me crazy but I actually think this is a pretty interesting idea.

Seems hugely unlikely that a filmmaker of Tarantino's stature would want to direct an entry in the FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise, "ultimate" or otherwise. And according to the rumour mill of a few years back, he was going to produce a HALLOWEEN sequel, and direct SCREAM 3. And wasn't he linked with DIE HARD 4 at one point? Hmmm....

All of which scepticism aside, I can picture Tarantino being a huge fan of FRIDAY THE 13TH, HALLOWEEN and so on, and wanting to do a homage to the horror/slasher genre in the same way as he paid tribute to martial arts flicks and other B-movies with KILL BILL. I wouldn't be surprised to see a FRIDAY THE 13TH-type affair from Tarantino one day, albeit a brilliantly-made film of infinitely higher quality than the lowbrow dreck it's inspired by.... but a FRIDAY THE 13TH sequel? I find this rumour hard to believe.

When is he going to get around to doing the remake of The Inglorious Bastards?

I read about this over at JoBlo.com and thought it sounded lie one of the best ideas i'd ever heard. I'm not a big fan of the friday movies but I'll happily sit through them. I'd love to see a Tarantino directed entry.

I'll be interested to see what he brings to it myself. Could turn out to be one of the best if he does it right.

If Tarantino directs the eleventh entry of Friday the 13th it will be the best one in the series. It won't take much to beat the others because they all suck.

No doubt about that whatsoever, although it's an enormous "if".

Hmmm.... well, to be sure, it's hardly a series full of classics, but I thought the first one was pretty well-done and scary (albeit monumentally stupid, but, hey, aren't they all?), and I found the third one (the 3D one, although I've only seen the "flat" version on video) surprisingly good and entertaining. Not seen all of 'em, though. JASON LIVES - that's quite enjoyable, too; also FREDDY VS. JASON. JASON GOES TO HELL, on the other hand - one of the worst films I've ever tried to watch.

Any danger of an ORIGINAL movie from Tarantino these days?

I just think he could be much more courageous, being as talented as he is.

Well, I guess it would be an extremely courageous move for the world's most famous and revered filmmaker to direct FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 12 (or whatever number it is)!

And this FRIDAY THE 13TH story is just another BS rumour, unsurprisingly.
