Hey gang! CBn has scored a major interview with SilverFin/Young Bond author Charlie Higson!

It's a long interview, so while Mr. Asterix works his magic making it look great, here's a bit of cool news as a teaser.

We planned to do it over the phone, but the time difference between LA and the UK made this tricky, so I ended up just emailing him the questions. It's taken a few days to get them back and we've all been on pins and needles. I'm happy now we did it via email because it allowed him to give very complete answers, but it would have been fun to talk to him in person too. Looking forward to the book more than I had been. I almost spat up my lime Diet Coke when he mentioned Silverhead and Silverfist . I know Ann Fleming thought that Bond was humorless, so it would be nice for Mr. Higson to prove her wrong without going too far overboard. I am also encouraged that IFP and Mr. Higson allowed the story to dictate its own length; I always felt that many of the Gardner's and Benson's lost their sense of pace trying to reach some mythical word/page count. The one question I was interested in, that you touched on a bit with your adult Bond novel query, was if there was any buzz from the IFP, and naturally EON, about who would handle a film novelization for Casino Royale (that is, unless EON plans on doing a faithful adaption...yeah, right ). It seems like Higson could keep things light enough to make it work. Great job, zencat! It's funny that Higson's mention about being more interested in working on the script of a Bond film, was similar to Christoper Wood's response in a recent MI6 interview. I just can't get used to the idea of Charlie Higson writing Bond books, though. One minute he's Bob Fleming, the next he's Ian Fleming ... it's bizarre.
