The DB5 is a car that has a special place in the heart of Bond fans, I think. :)

The other Aston Martins are pale imitations of the classic GF vehicle. I do like Lazenby's car 2nd, though.

Most certainly, and with good reason too. I am pretty fond of the Aston featured in The Living Daylights though, it seems to often get overlooked by the fans.

As iconic as the DB5 is, I went with the DBS. '65-'71 was my all-time favorite era for car makes, so it fits right in there. It's just a bitchen ride, man. :)

I also quite like the Volante. And the Vanquish is somewhat yawn-inducing (not sure why).

As much as I like all of them, the Volante has a special place in my heart since it was in the first Bond film I ever saw in the theater.

DB5.

Classic, original and (at the time) truly ahead of it's time as British sports cars go.

Love that little silver coupe.

The original DB5 of course. The V8 Volante a close second. The Vanish or Vanquish just killed it for me.

I guess, if we're getting technical (like Mr Asterix) it has to be the DBS V8 disguised as a non production model V8 Vantage/Volante with roof that can come off and be put back on by magic in Qs lab. Or something like that...

Hmm...fifties styling in the sixties and essentially just a rebadged version of its predecessor which first appeared in 1958. Not ahead of its time at all. Lovely thing, but it wasn't from the future in any way.

The Aston Martin DB4 (disguised as a DB5) from Goldfinger.

That was a DB5. The prototype and original perhaps, but since the only difference between a DB4 Series 5 Vantage and a DB5 is a set of overiders, some badges and a new engine, all of which the Goldfinger car had- it was a DB5. If the DB5 prototype isn't a DB5, I don't know what is.

Oh and the Daylights car wasn't a DBS V8, but an AM V8 (I think a series 4 or Oscar India). The Volante was B549 WUU- an AM V8 Volante fitted with a Vantage engine, but the other cars were standard V8 saloons with Vantage badges to match the Volante.

AFAIK it was infact an AMV8OI. I just felt like writing a load of driveling rubbish.

The Volante has a much bigger role in TLDs than any other Bond car in any movie. And I even like the color

Mabye it's the color. Silver has always been THE color of choice for European sports cars, regardless of whether they are made in Britain, Germany, Italy, or anywhere else on the continent. The color looks rich and expensive, yet is understated, graceful, and powerful. Gunmetal Gray, the color of George Lazenby's DBS in OHMSS, is almost as good, but being a darker color, looks more sinister and evil. But please, no loud colors like red.

How do you mean? Basing it on amount of screentime?

Of course the DB5 is THE classic Bond car, but I personally like the Volante from The Living Daylights. (A lot of the classic styling with a little updating)

Not really. Britain is green, France blue, Italy red, Germany silver- these are the traditional colours for each, car-wise.
It looks particularly good on the DB5 because the darker silver throws the brighter chromework into a lovely subtle highlight without standing out too much.

Went for the Daylights car myself (whether or not it's a Volante is very debatable! ); not the most beautiful but suits Bond more than the DB5 (which as Sean did describe it as; is a bit of a 'lady's car') and is just damned cool in the chase scene.

The DB5, DBS, and V8 Volante are all terrific cars.

My personal preference is for the V12 Vanquish --- for the sole reason it would save me thousands of USDollars in New York City parking violation fines.

All the Aston Martins are cool, great looking cars. And while the DB5 is, as MarcAngeDraco said, THE classic Bond car, my choice is the Vanquish from Die Another Day. It just looks spectacular. Regardless, I would happily take any of them.

When I borrowed the Vantage some years ago, I was told by an Aston Martin dealer that came to view it, that it was in fact an Oscar India.

The Volante was later re-registered, as AML wanted to keep the significant number.

I agree, even though if they offered me one (like that's gonna happen!) I would choose in reverse order of appearance:

1.Aston Martin DBS (CR)
2.Aston Martin V12 Vanquish (DAD)
3.Aston Martin V8 Vantage (TLD)
4.Aston Martin DBS (OHMSS)
5.Aston Martin DB5 (GF)

I also like other, non-Bond Aston Martins like the older DB7 and the new DB9 and V8 Vantage.
