As we know, it turned out to be the opposite in the final film. Would you have preferred it if Halle Berry was an enemy in the film, such as the way Rosamund Pike finally was, and then vice versa for Rosamund Pike?

I'm agreed there, what would have been great is if she got even more screen time as an enemy.

Interesting comment, Zing! So you feel the whole attack on South Korea (then Japan) angle should've been scrapped all together? Afterall, Icarus was made for that purpose in the first place.I would have done away with 'Icarus' completely - making the 'dream machine' and the face-changing technology the centerpiece of the story.

I know a lot of people would disagree with what I'm about to say, citing on just how bad the movie was written/acted, whatever. But, if they switched roles, in my opinion, it would be one of the top 5 Bond movies. Halle Berry would be able to pull off a harder, evil Bond chick then the sweet, innocent Rosamund Pike.
An interesting take on it. As Jinx seems to be one of the less favored James Bond women in the bunch, I wonder if she would have been more enjoyable to watch if she had played a villainess in the film, rather than the good Bond girl.
I could see Rosamund Pike both roles, either the villainess as she was, or the good Bond girl. I'm glad she was the femme fatale though because I thought her performance was terrific.

Everyone can pretty much agree, I think, that the entire 'Icarus' idea was obviously borrowed from 'Diamonds Are Forever.' And just three Bond's ago we had a super weapon in space capable of delivering chaos to the world! I would not have scrapped the North Korea angle, but I think the story would have worked just as well if 'Icarus' was a giant, steam-rolling, super-tank of some kind that was capable of cutting a path through the minefield. Certainly it wouldn't be anymore fantastic than a super-satellite powered by diamonds - and might be more plausible when you consider just how much Graves accomplished in a little over a year's time.
