"With the Jason Bourne franchise having earned over $500 million worldwide already, producer Frank Marshall tells MTV that he doesn't expect The Bourne Ultimatum to be the last film. The third film, again starring Matt Damon, is scheduled to start shooting on August 1st and is based on Robert Ludlum's last book in the series.
"It's kinda up to Matt [Damon]," Marshall said. "Maybe to five [films] ... At some point, he's gotta find out who he is."
"Ultimatum" will be directed by Paul Greengrass, who helmed the second installment, "Supremacy". The movie is expected to hit theaters in the summer of 2007.
Marshall added that Julia Stiles' character will "be a central character in this. So will Joan Allen and some of the other characters from the last movie."
"Ultimatum" will have two new villains, which haven't been cast yet. The plot of the book focused on an aging terrorist who targets Bourne, leading to his uneasy alliance with the KGB.
According to the producer, writers will be brought in to concoct storylines for life beyond "Ultimatum," with Damon's character discovering his true identity and resurrecting himself a few more times. - source: MTV"
