...cats.
Re-reading Goldfinger for the twelvety-nth time, it's striking (but probably only because I was re-reading it for the twelvety-nth time) how often "cats" or feline references appear in it.
I don't claim any great credit for this, nor do I deserve a prize. Pity is nearer the mark.
1. The cat fed to Oddjob
2. Goldfinger's plan likened to Puss in Boots
3. Goldfinger's voice has a "treacherous purr"
4. Pussy Galore, "generally"
5. Several descriptions along the lines of "not a cat moved" (a slightly awkward expression when one stares at it for at least an hour); there are others.
There's other stuff about "catlike grace" etc, and at one point Tilly Masterton starts licking her own anus, or maybe I imagined that, but "Bond and cats", it's a theory.
Sorta.

Interesting observation there, to say the least.
Can't take credit for realizing this (found it in a review I skimmed through a few minutes ago), but isn't Pussy the leader of a band of cat burglars as well?
Could be mistaken, as it's been about a year since I read the novel.

So Goldfinger might have pussy(cat) envy?

Isn't the "all cats are grey in the dark" quote from Goldfinger as well?

[mra]And Benjamin Franklin wrote it before that. A similar phrase
