Looks like I'm going to have to be a bad guy here but, I don't like it. Guess I'll get used to it over time.

Hey, TheSaint. I don't like it either. BUT the good news is, it's not finished yet. These are the default colors and it's hardly done. Dave just though it would be better to have the forums up and running while working on the formating and colors, etc than have the forums turned off the whole time. I think Dave's ZZZZZZing at the moment... but... don't worry... what you see now still have some perfecting to be worked into it.

Though I remember last time we updated the forums I didn't like it either, but then it grew on me.

Can I stress that anymore? There's nothing to get used to about this - I'll be finishing it all today.

This isn't the final style of the forums - it looks [censored]e. I'm working on it still and I'll post in here when I think it's all done - then I'd be grateful of any styling errors you can see.

Looking good so far, great job Dave.

I especially like the "Outline | Standard | Linear+ " layout features, that's really cool. Especially "Outline", very practical and helpful that is. Did we have the option to get a direct link URL to a specific post before (and post numbers)? Like that one as well, and of course the "multiquote" option...

A few errors have to be ironed out of course, but most of them seem to be more of a technical nature than a visual. I trust on you that you know what to do .

What I'd love to see is that font color in those light blue bars to be changed (or the light blue changed to a darker blue). Hardly readable to me, but you may have noticed that yourself. Also, a few more lines would be good to make things a bit clearer (to see which button belongs to which post and for a better separation of the posts from each other), a bit more "Linear+" layout features in "Standard", so to say.

Just noticed the new "Add Poll" icon. Nice update, and I gather the other icons will be changed over accordingly.

Yes that will be changed because at the moment it's just the default colour scheme for this board.

I have one question, though.

I noticed there is now an option that tracks your attachments. Is there a limit to how many attachments you can have on the boards? Does this mean you might have to delete some of your attachments from old threads?

Hmm... it looked a bit more... "linear" this morning. Not much diffrence compared to Standard now. But one thing I can clearly see is that the initial post is always on top of the page, no matter if it's page 1 or page 15.


Yep, a detailed briefing would make sense, Dave. Noticed some interesting changes im my user controls as well (for example "Attachment manager", tell us more about it...). Looks much better than it did this morning. Love the new buttons ("Go to last unread post" looks a bit tiny, doesn't it?)

The main bug I can see is the "Fast Reply" box suffering a nasty light mauve. I'll have a go at fixing that later on.

Damn, I knew it... But I can live with it as long as I know that it's my computer's fault and not the site's. I also got used to the fact that the main page looks a bit strange since the last update. Things like that happen frequently when you're on a Mac...

That blue font color in the opening "source" line in quotes, it seems to be a bit to dark for me... most other things are likely to be a question of getting used to it. Sure you got a lot of other things to fix in the background, the sort of thing that makes the most work but is barely noticed by anyone. First things first, and take your time.

Oh, but one thing that is unacceptable, Dave: I still can't see your "Admiralty" Group icon...
