And we are making a post about a possible re-use of the Walther PPK??????? It's Bond his own wish to use the new Walter!
Nice motto though......

I'd like to see Martin Campbell do another one, although supposedly he's unhappy with the route the series has taken.
Dave
I've always wondered what he meant by that. Does he mean the more realistic turn Brosnan has taken Bond. Or does he mean the more action that the films have had, such as TND?

I was thinking of "Mad Max" George Miller. He also directed the Twilight Zone Movie segment "Terror at 30,000ft", which I thought was the best of the 4 (?) segments.White Persian (29 Jan, 2002 10:55 a.m.):

I'd like Roger Donaldson or George Miller to do one soon.
Dr George Miller or the "Man From Snowy River" one? ;-)
I'm not even too sure if he directs anymore.

Looking over the years:Blue Eyes (29 Jan, 2002 02:53 a.m.):
I'll say this. While it depends on Tamahori's performance with doing Bond 20, it would be nice if a director could do more than one film. I think it would help develop the series.
Terence Young = 3 (2 then 1)
Guy Hamilton = 4 ( 1 then 3)
Lewis Gilbert = 3 (1 then 2)
Peter Hunt = 1
John Glen = 5
Martin Campbell = 1
Roger Spottiswood = 1
Michael Apted = 1
Lee Tamahori = 1 (so far)
Other than the latest 5 movies (counting Bond20), the last stretch of movies dirrected by different directors was from Goldfinger to OHMSS.
People could argue that this period was the halcyon time for Bond, but it would seem that it wasn't affected by the use of different directors.
Whereas, Glen directed 5 in a row, and it could be also argued that Bond movies were starting to get stale as a result.
But it does show that all the earlier directors did more than one, so I'm not too sure whether there is an advantage in using the same director more than once over using different ones all the time.
I'd like Roger Donaldson or George Miller to do one soon.
