My sentiments exactly. I would say I prefer a woman who is neither a "screaming bimbo" or "Bond in drag". I'd rather see 007 paired with an intelligent and feminine Bond girl who complements Bond well(for example: Octopussy, Domino, Tracy, Paris, Melina) rather than competing with him or acting like a total airhead. The problem with the female Bond concept is that there is only room for one Bond in a Bond film. If Bond and his Bond girl are exactly the same, then one of them is unnecessary. Therefore, between those two choices, I'll vote for the dumb blonde.This is the best type. If I had to pick one extreme or the other, I'd go for dumb blondes because they don't have action sequences that steal screen time from Bond.I like the ones like Tracy, a bit of both, but not leaning heavily on either side. The "non-irritating, non-screaming, Damsels in distress".
But ideally the girl isn't a screaming moron or a Bond-like commando. A girl who is witty and intelligent, but not an "equal to Bond" makes for th best supporting character. Afterall we know that NOBODY is equal to 007!

A mix of both is best for all the reasons stated above.
But just once I'd love to have a completely helpless bimbo again, just to balance out against all the "every bit Bond's equal" women and piss off the feminists.

I never liked the helpless bimbo who spent the last thrid of the film shouting "James!" and "Be careful James!" But the new age kick-
babe is getting way to old. It worked for Michelle Yeoh and Famke Janssen, but it was not believable with Halle Berry as Jinx. I liked the middle of the road girls like Melina Havelock, Tilly Masterson, Honey Rider, who had the guts but were in over the head when facing the Bond villians. Those were women you could respect and love like Bond did. I'd imagine Connery would have observed Jinx or Wai Lin fighting, would have been glad to fight along side them but when the mission was over, he'd have shaken their hands and phoned up a real woman like Pussy Galore or Kissy Suzuki. (*Connery voice* Pardon me but I'm in need of some Pussy.)
