The original "Live & Let Die" was made when "Shaft" & "Superfly" were popular. It's been over 30 years & a remake wouldn't be outside of the realm of possibility.

Because I'm bored, here's my idea for a cast in a hypothetical remake of Roger Moore's first Movie as 007:

James Bond: Pierce Brosnan
M: Liam Neeson
Moneypenny: Samantha Bond
Q: John Cleese

Kananga: Laurence Fishburne
Mr. Big: Samuel L. Jackson
(They'd pull off Samuel L's face & get Fishburne)

Solitaire: Marsha Thomason
Tee Hee: Michael Clarke Duncan
Baron Samedi: Redman

Felix Leiter: Will Patton
Harold Strutter: Wesley Snipes
Rosie Carver: Gabrielle Union

JW Pepper: John Goodman

"Names is for tombstones, baby!

JW Pepper: I THINK NOT!

There is nobody better than Jack Black to play JW Pepper.

Because I'm bored, here's my idea for a cast in a hypothetical remake of Roger Moore's first Movie as 007:

James Bond: Hugo Weaving
M: Liam Neeson
Moneypenny: Martine McCutcheon
Q: John Cleese

Kananga: Laurence Fishburne
Mr. Big: Samuel L. Jackson
(They'd pull off Samuel L's face & get Fishburne)

Solitaire: Marsha Thomason
Tee Hee: Michael Clarke Duncan

Felix Leiter: Will Patton

Pierce as Bond, Judi Dench as M, Sam Bond as Moneypenny, Thandie Newton as Solitaire, Denis Leary as Leiter, Dennis Haysbert as Strutter, the rest I agree with Milles' choices.

Jackman as Bond, Samantha Bond as Miss Moneypenny, not sure who'd I'd want for Miss Solitaire though.

Love your choices for some of the villains. Then there's Baron Samedi too.

I would pick Jackman as Bond, Michael Clarke Duncan as Mr. Big/Dr. Kanaga. Perhaps Keira Knightley will make the perfect Solitare. She has that virgin quality to her, critical to the role. Plus, she's young just like in the novel.

I'll agree with that. Fine choice SPECTRE Assassin. :) Didn't think about her for the role, yet I'm always thinking she'll make a good Bond girl. :)

Or perhaps they'd actually keep the nationality originally planned for her in Live And Let Die.

Glad you agree, mate. I always fancied her as an actress.

I can't think of anyone who would play Baron Samedi though.

Add Chris Tucker to the cast as the jive talkin' cabbie that drives Bond in Harlem. Baron Samedi would be tough to re-cast, what with Geoffrey Holder having played him twice.

You know maybe taking from MillesGloriosus's post, Samuel L. Jackson instead of being Mr. Big, perhaps try him as Baron.
