Nobody ever comments on this, but listen to the voices of the 007 actors. Notice anything?
I realized a while back one of the reasons that Connery made the best Bond- he has the deepest, richest, most masculine voice. Each actor to follow has been an octave or two higher. They've never equalled Connery, but they've also never found anyone else with such a voice. Do you think the voice has anything to do with it?

I think Rubixcub has a good point. Although I don't knoe that 007's voice has been a major element in his continued popularity once the character has become established, I really doubt that "Bond, James Bond" would have been voted the world's favourite bit of movie dialogue if someone other than Connery, with that deep growling purr of a voice, had played the casino scene in Dr No.

I don't know about the voice but I know that Brosnan and Connery are considered the two best Bonds (by the majority) and they have the two most 'interesting' voices of the series. So perhaps there is a connection.

I don't think the voice has anything to do with it but then again I actually think Brosnan is the best closely followed by Connery. I think one of the reasons Connery is considered the best is because he is the origanal James Bond.
