Having read a few of todays threads i get the feeling of confusion out there.

Eon's official january 14 press conference inferred that MOON and GUSTAV GRAVES are two distinct individuals.

also the Korean actor who turned down the Colonel Moon role mentioned that Bond fights him in the 1st 15 mins of the film and then the final 20 mins. This is backed up by the offical Eon press release which stated (paraphrasing) Bond ends up where it all began, i.e. the DMZ in korea.

Just think about it. How would a European Caucasian portrayed by Englishman Toby Stephens have carte blanche among a host of paranoid and very oriental-looking communist military personel?

Let me guess, Graves uses the facial mutation device to become a korean again.

C'mon guys,P&W and Eon should be brighter than that.

Shouldnt they?

if that is the case, then why not change from Graves to someone who Bond has never met?

I mean, why change your appearence to Moon?

Wheres the surprise for bond in that?

More importantly, where's the surprise for the audience?

No. I simply dont buy it. EON is not going to do a rip-off of an overrated movie like MI-2.

Sorry folks, i stand by what i said. MOON is not GRAVES.
Especially after hearing what Toby Stevens told the BBC at the Eden Project on Sunday.

Blue Eyes...help me out here.....

I think Eon are playing it canny.

My hunch is that Col Moon and Gustav Graves are indeed two separate people, but that Moon kills and assumes the identity of Graves (as Graf Hugo von der Drache did with Hugo Frax in Fleming's Moonraker - OK, I know he didn't kill him, but he took over the dead Drax's identity).

This gives him control of Graves wealth, a respectable cover and access to Graves's "Solaris" satellite, which he'll use to wreak havoc/hold the world to ransom/ conquer the earth or whatever.

Remember the early rumours that the face-changing process starts to revert? I believe that's when Graves becomes Moon again (or gets stuck halfway), and Bond finally gives him what for.

Sounds similar to DAF?

As I recall, Eon inferred that Zao and Graves are two distinct individuals. I have heard nothing of them saying Col. Moon and Graves are not one and the same.

If this is the case (that he starts to revert) and his character is the one that makes reappearances will it be as Colonel Moon or Gustav Graves?

Theres nothing wrong with it. Moon eventually flees from Korea, this is how Bond is released. Since Bond knows what Moon looks like, Moon has to change his look. Since Moon fights with Bond at the end of the film, one would presume that Graves reverts back to Moon near the end of the film.

If we can clone humans, whats wrong with changing the appearance of your face? Its just plastic surgery with a few tweaks.

I must say I like the idea that the villain can change his face in anyone elses. Okay, its a little like Terminator 2 and maybe too fantastic, but the villain could "use" Bonds face. That could lead to a great surprising end. The audience believed to have always seen Bond, but it wasn
