At approximately 6:00 am CDT (-5 UTC) 06/21/04 Cogent Communications experience some problems with 2 network spans that route through Atlanta.
This directly impacted our core network traffic.
Cogent took the spans out of service. Once the affected spans were out of service traffic returned to normal.
Presently they are working on the spans.
During this the work you may see a slight (<10ms) increase in latency if you are routing through Cogent.
Once this issue was resolved, it appears as though they forgot to reboot our server. And because of that, we had extended downtime.
