MISSION: FOUR

Story:

Agents, as you are undoubtedly aware, James Bond is the number one enemy of this organization. This next exercise will test your knowledge of the exploits of this man. Your backgrounds are no longer important to me, you are SPECTRE trainees now.

Mission:

1. Each agent will get to ask one trivia question on James Bond.

2. Another agent, answering correctly, will earn an assassination avoidance.

3. If the question is answered incorrectly, the person asking the question will earn an assassination avoidance. That question has then passed and no further opportunities are offered to provide an answer.

4. When answering a question, either correctly or incorrectly, that agent will then post the next question.

5. If a question seems to be "hanging out there" a bit too long, in order to move the gameplay along, an agent may simply post "I don't know" and then proceed with a question of their own.

6. To give all agents an opportunity, no agent may ask more than one question and post more than one answer until ALL agents have posted, with the exception of the first question. (Example: Joyce C. asks the 1st question which Jim answers and then posts his question. Joyce may immediately answer and then post a question to keep the game moving. At that point, however, both Jim and Joyce have asked/answered a question and must wait until all agents have done so before taking a 2nd turn).

7. The agents with the most assassination avoidances for asking unanswerable questions AND for making the most correct answers will be safe from assassination.

You have 96 hours to test your skills.

James Bond got injured during a mission in the Himalayas. There was a lesion on a lobe in his brain for a while, causing blackouts.

On which lobe in his brain was the lesion?

New York and Stockholm

What was Standfast Maltravers?

A name deemed by Fleming too much for the creation of his hero, wanted something more simple, choosing James Bond.

Who is the Laird of Murcaldy?

That is hardly an apporpriate answer, and in fact worng, so therefore, I have two, one for posting an answer, and the other for posting a question that didn't get answered.

I quote: Please note that Qwerty's answer to Standfast Maltravers isn't quite right; although what it states is true, technically it was Noel Coward's suggestion for the name of Fleming's hero.

The secret committee is open to all rebuttals.

EDIT: Qwerty has defended his answer: I see what Jim says, but I don't understand why what I said should not also be accepted, since it is indeed true.

It's as Jonhboy answered my question of who is the Laird or Murcaldy, giving his description, but never actually saying his name. Yet that still (and rightfully does) receive credit.

The verdict is. . . . . .accepted.

As there was no answer to my q before the deadline, it's that 507 is Mike Farrar's apartment; 519 Rona Vail's apartment in the comic strip version of The Spy who Loved Me (Horak etc.).

Sorry about that, Matt. I only use PMS for the eliminations. All other info is always shared in the thread. Still, you were a player for a day, and by god, that counts for something.
