Have you seen Spy Hard with Leslie Nielsen? It is awfully silly, but the title song with credits was so much like Bond and was just hilarious. The movie started really good, but then sort of went too silly closer to the end. Didn't Leslie Nielsen make a few other movies that we could consider a parody on Bond?

Where else can you see Andy Griffith as a villain with world domination plans?

I actually think I've seen this one -- or parts of it. Nielsen can be pretty good sometimes, but this movie seemed fair.

I saw this once a long time ago... aside from the Weird Al Thunderball spoof of the opening credits, I found this film to be rather lame....

This movie had potential to be better than it was and fell short. To me, the best part was the title sequence. Aside from that, the movie was just OK. I did enjoy Bill Conti's score, though.

I think that what ruins this type of movies sometimes is too much slapstick. To me, when things start becoming too stupid and unrealistic the fun drains out of the movie. The beginning of this movie was really funny, and I though the rest would continue in the same manner, but then everything went downhill. I agree they had a chance to make it better, but blew it. Nielsen was in a few other Spy movies, one had several sequels, but I forgot the name, I think it had the word "gun" somewhere in the title, but I could be wrong.

It's alright, not as good as Top Secret, Airplane, The Naked Gun or the Hot Shots! films but better than the last Naked Gun film by far.

Yey! You answered my question about the name of that movie. It was The Naked Gun.

Yes, but Naked Guns were police-spoofs not spy spoofs. Big screen transfers from the 6 epsiode TV series "Police Squad (in color)".

This movie was pretty average. It got a few laughs out of me, but on the whole it wasn't that great. I am a fan of Leslie Nielson and I thought he did well in this movie, if only it had a better script.

Amen!! Matlock as a megalomaniacal general is worth at least a look.

The Weird Al credits were merely a rip on Thunderball (the silhouettes), Goldfinger (the last few lyrics), and For Your Eyes Only (Sheena Easton on screen), although I did get a kick out the explosion.

Still, I'd rather see some of Nielsen's other films, if I had that option. Spy Hard is mostly lacking in humor, except for Andy Griffith.

Starts off great but runs out of steam by the end of the film. Still there's too much good stuff in there to dismiss it completely.

The main titles and Weird Al's song are absolutlely brilliant and rank as one of the greatest Bond spoofs ever.

I thought the opening titles/ theme song bit was hilarious, and so was the "Bond" girl's name (Barbara "Barbie" Dahl.. Bibi Dahl anyone??? :) ) was pretty funny.

I must admit I liked it, though I don't plan to add it to my dvd collection. Also, Talisa's in the film briefly, which added to my appreciation.
The theme song was funny, and Leslie was, well Leslie Nielsen. On the whole, I'd recommend it for the completist Bond fan interested, but don't spend too much money on it.

I have to say that I love this movie.

Nielson and Sheridan are superb in this James Bond spoof.

Nielson gives great impression as Moore Bond, and Nicolette ( isn't that a non smoking cigarette? :) ) is a corking and very sexy Bond girl.

Like so many Hollywood actresses, it's great to see a local girl from my area do so well.

Cheers,

W. D. Forty. :)

Yes Spy Hard was good anmd funny. Mind you I think Leslie Neilsen is hilaorious. All his comedy films have managed to get me into stiches.

I'll never for get the safe sex scene in the first Naked Gun film

Spy Hard isn't a bad film. I saw it as an inflight movie, and there were only two walkouts.

Good film but not that great. Weird Al's title song was hilarious and credit to them for getting a bond girl in it (Talisa Soto from License To Kill).

Theres one scene I think is absolute genius where the films equivilent of Moneypenny lies on the desk in stockings and suspenders to get Dick Steel's attention-Louis Maxwell never went that far!

That scene where Andy is addressing NATO (?) saying "All Y'all did was blow off a couple of arms..." That whole attitude would be me

Also does anybody know where I can track down an MP3 of the Spy Hard Theme?

That seems very common - people saying that the only good thing about the movie was Weird Al's part.

That part has been on his music video compilations, BTW - but only the most recent one actually has credits. (The older one had him interacting with nothing.)
