Apart from the Bond films, here's my list. And by the way Athena, you should definitely be scared of Zardoz. Be afraid, be very afraid. :)

Ahem, now then:

Murder on the Orient Express-I've seen the end.

Outland-Seen

Time Bandits-Seen

Wrong is Right-Seen and thoroughly enjoy

Sword of the Valiant-Saw the beginning in my Senior English class in high school.

Highlander-Seen

The Name of the Rose-Seen

The Untouchables-Seen

The Presidio-Seen

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade-Seen, top flight film all the way.

The Hunt for Red October-Seen

Highlander 2-Sadly enough, seen

Robin Hood-Seen

Medicine Man-Saw in the theater, still cheesed off about it. :)

Rising Sun-Seen, a decent enough film that gets really disjointed towards the end.

Just Cause-Seen

First Knigfht-Saw the end on cable, didn't have the urge to see the rest.

The Rock-Seen it, loved it.

The Avengers-Bought it for five bucks the other day but haven't watched it yet.

Entrapment-Seen

Gosh! I'm surprised, but I have seen all of them [except some of the TV ones, Requiem for a Heavyweight was quite good, I believe Anthony Quinn was the star]. I guess age is factor here.

I would say that Connery was not really taken seriously as an actor by the powers to be until The Name of the Rose. Which by the way was an excellent novel by Umberto Eco. The movie was a good adaptation of the novel.

You liked him in as a character/that film too Athena? Marnie is indeed one of the most underrated Hitchcock films ever, I watch it often.

I think most likely because of the cold reception it received, although many critics have shown how at a second glance, it's a terrific film. One just has to wonder how it would have been different with Grace Kelly (stunningly beautiful) would have been in the title role.

That's not counting the Bond films, mind you. And I also saw a bit of the '61 "Macbeth" when it was on CTV last month. Pretty interesting, that. I own all of his Bond films, plus IJATLC and The Untouchables. Been searching for The Rock Criterion Edition at a decent price.

To make a long list short, I have seen all his movies!

One of my favorite non-Bond films of Connery's include "Finding Forrester, "The Hill", "The Offence", "Rising Sun" and "Entrapment".

Also, one of my favs that I'm ashamed to admit might be "Shalako".

I've seen a lot of Connery's films, I just love him!

Other than all his Bond films, I've seen (many several times over); I've enjoyed most of the films below:

Another Time, Another Place (terrific debut! Lucky Lana Turner, she's the one who discovered him!)

Darby O'Gill & the Little People (a personal favorite, he's just so unpracticed, innocent and fresh in this!)

The Longest Day

Marnie (one of my very favorit Hitch films, I love Connery in this!)

Woman of Straw (interesting little psych. film with Gina Lollabrigida & Ralph Richardson)

A Fine Madness

Male of the Species

The Molly Maguires (directed by one of my favorites, Martin Ritt, this is a terrific piece of social history on film!)

The Anderson Tapes

Zardoz (totally wild & crazy SF film!)

Murder on the Orient Express (great fun!)

The Wind & the Lion (this film ranks as one of my all-time favorite films, period! It's my #1 favorite Connery film -- that's right, even MORE than any of his Bond films!)

The Man Who Would Be King (everything is good here)

Robin & Marian (underrated thoughtful piece with Sean and Audrey Hepburn showing some great work)

A Bridge Too Far

Highlander (he's so cool in this!) & Highlander II

The Hunt for Red October (my #2 on personal list of Connery's best films!)

The Untouchables (love his character here!)

Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade (not a popular film on this board but I loved him as Indy's father)

The Russia House

Robin Hood (he did a better King Richard than King Arthur)

Rising Sun

Just Cause

First Knight (I would rather *FORGET* that he ever did this one--blech!)

Dragonheart (lovely movie!)

The Rock (total pure enjoyment action pic!)

The Avengers (his most unforgivable mistake!)

Entrapment (blah blah blah)

Finding Forrester (very intriguing piece of work)

League of Extraordinary Gentleman (one of those many recent action blockbusters from which I've come out of the theater fuming, weaving fantasies about committing atrocities against everyone involved...same with The Avengers & First Knight)

I'd like to make special mention of Tarzan's Greatest Adventure. I first saw it as a kid, back when one of my local tv stations played their Saturday Tarzan movie at 1pm every week. This movie is great entertainment, with colorful photography, rip-roaring adventure, an intelligent Tarzan as played by Gordon Scott (my favorite of the movie Tarzans) and an Indiana Jones-esque villain named Slade who was more the dark side of Indy that anything else. Connery plays one of Slade's henchmen and his role- and performance- were unremarkable. It was a novel treat to see him in a non-Bond, non-starring role.

It's a movie I haven't seen in nearly 20 years. Here's hoping it gets a dvd release and/or the sanctimonious PC gods allow the Tarzan films to be shown on tv again. If I recall correctly, this Tarzan entry is more akin to the 1960s Ron Ely tv series than the Cro-Magnon Tarzan played by Johnny Weissmuller.

Oh yes!Tarzan's Greatest Adventure is easily the finest Tarzan movie ever made.Anthony Quayle and Sean Connery are fantastic villains. And the film's storyline is much more in line with the Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan than the interesting but overpraised arch self conscious, miscast(Tarzan does NOT look like a cross-eyed ballet dancer)and leaden Greystoke ever could be.The immediate sequel to Tarzan's Greatest Adventure, with the terrific Jock Mahoney as the bad guy is nearly as good.Gordon Scott is superb in these films--the best of all the Tarzans.
