I have a confession to make.

As those of you who know me can attest, I like A View To A Kill. Hey, I might even go so far as to say I love A View To A Kill [those who do know me know that I do].

But... *pauses for dramatic effect* I also like Gidea Park's cover of California Girls. There, I said it. I like the song, and I like how it was used in the film. So what? :)

Shun me if you like, but, if there is anyone out there who is able to help me find this song, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Gidea Park's cover of The Beach Boys' hit California Girls, which, for those of you who haven't slammed it yourselves, appeared during the opening ski chase in A View To A Kill, is thematically similar to the original, but the pace is significantly upped.

Just wondering if any Bond fans out there actually have a full copy of the song as heard in A View To A Kill?

Thanks!

And, before any of you ask, yes, I'm serious. :)

Adrian Baker who was one of the founding members of Gidea Park later became a member of The Beach Boys. Unfortunately, he has just left The Beach Boys completely ruining my favourite trick Bond trivia question,

Has there ever been a regular release of this song, as I've only heard it in the film.

CDDB only lists two CDs by Gidea Park, none of them has California Girls on them.

No real useful results with Google, but there's a website "adrianbakerproductions.com". But I couldn't find anything on that one either.

Something interesting to hunt down, maybe I should send out my Beach Boys spies...

Ah, that's what I thought, as it can sometimes be the deal with cover versions. Thanks for the info, Stromberg.

...but that doesn't mean that it wasn't released. Remember, this was the 80s, still possible that it was on some vinyl which hasn't been put on CD until now. And the CDDB only covers CDs.

I like it too. If I was snowboarding to get away from "badguys" then that's the song I'd want playing in the background.

I have nothing against the song itself, the fact it was used at all just irks me.
