Has anyone else noticed the very Bondesque guitar riff on Morrissey's excellent new single, Irish Blood, English Heart.

Or am I reading too much into the second coming of the happy, cheerful one ...?

No, but listening to his new album "You Are the Quarry", I got to feeling that Moz has a Bond song in him.... and I definitely never used to think that. "I Have Forgiven Jesus" puts me in mind of a Bond theme (the lyrics would have to be tweaked, natch), and "America Is Not the World" seems vaguely Bondian to me, too.

'course, I freely admit that I may be "reading too much in". :)

I wouldn't worry about it. When I first posted I thought that I was reading too much into it too.

As much as I'd love too see a Morrissey Bond song (and let's face it, he would suit perfectly the mood of any Casino Royale if it was made) I somehow can't see it.

It would be too much of a risk for EON and co.

Which is a shame.
