LOL! :)

Pink ties in the Bond series and the words Diamonds Are Forever just comes to mind.

What were they thinking?

I guess they took Leiter's comment in TB seriously: "On you, everything looks good." :)

Haha! Indeed, too bad Bond did look okay in Thunderball, but Diamonds Are Forever...um...:)

If anybody could get away with a pink tie it was Connery. Even he wasn't comfortable with it, you know he would have let them know it. Besides, he also wore a wedding dress and a diaper in Zardoz.

Watched DAf last night and I agree with you. The entire movie makes perfect sense except for that little pink tie. But I think I have the answer. In the special edition DVD added feature the Making of DAF they report that Paul Williams was originally to play Mr. Kidd. Considering his diminutive stature the pink tie must have been from his wardrobe. :)
