I was thinking about this Colonel Moon/Gustav Graves thing and trying to put 2 and 2 together. My take isthat Bond will be held for a period of time, what that is I don't know but my guess is a year because maybe Eon uses an inside joke because typically Bond 20 would have come out last year. Anyway, Bond is held over for awhile but he knows Moon's face and he knows somewhat of his plans. Moon to hide from MI6 and Bond in the future changes appearances and sets up shop as Graves. To do this and to introduce Graves to society some time would have to pass. I also think Jinx will be introduced as Graves' girl. Bond wins her over and creates even further hatred between the two characters. The only thing I can't figure out, that's to say I'm even on the right track, is the motive for Moon releasing Bond and why try to kill M. I don' t know I thought that with the timeframe issue with Bond being held that would create time for Moon to become Graves but I'm starting to confuse myself so I will go now!!

Totally agree, James great work. One thing i still dont understand. You mention Zao being a General and Moon Jr being a colonel and Zoa is his henchman. General is higher ranking officer to a colonel so how could he be Moons henchman?Jacques Nexus (21 Feb, 2002 11:53 a.m.):

I do really think that's the intention. Purvis and Wade are huge Bond fans and from what I know, they really know their Bond stuff. They undoubtedly would try and create someone on par of Grant, Oddjob etc...

Sorry, these are old mistakes when Zao was called "General Zao". The official line from EON is that he is simply "Zao" - so we don't know what his rank will be, but one would assume it would be less than a Colonel, as he serves Colonel Moon.
