John Malkovich as a Bond Villian? As far as I am concerned and know I am not alone in saying the man has the most exciting screen presence in the last 30 years. See him in Ripley's Game & Dangerous Liaisons.

Hey, you're Kingdom Come! That guy that was saying all those vulgar lyrics on the Bond Song thread!

Great actor, had a great role alongside Clint Eastwood In The Line of Fire.

John can be evil and threatening, when he's mad, he's mad. Be a strong a villian for Bond.

I see him as a possible Bond villian.

John Malkovich is a wonderful actor. There is no doubt in my mind that he would be a wonderful choice to play a Bond villain. O.K. so it may be typecasting, but he is just so good in villainous roles. I can imagine him stealing every scene that he appears in overshadowing Pierce Brosnan (or Jackman/Owen etc) and that could cause a few problems.

John Malkovich is a great Actor, but i think he will be "burned out" als Villain in "Johhnny English", the Bond-Spoof and he will probably play Lord Voldemort in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire".

I'd rather see Alan Rickman as a Bond Villain.

Rickman would be a grand choice, I found his upperclass take on his role in Die Hard to be quite good, reserved and maniacal when he wanted to be.

He'd be an interesting villain.

It would really depend on the character they created as the villain for Bond XXI or XXII. He is certainly a capable and talented actor.

Due the fact Mr. Malkovich did some villains during his career, I guess he's not suitable fo perform a Bond villain. I guess it'll be more adequate another great actor, but who hasn't done that kind of part. I prefer an European French actor like Jean Reno. He would be more than suitable to perform Le Chiffre.

I still prefer to see Udo Kier as a Bond villain , but Malkovich wouldn't be bad at all.

I read that Malkovich goes through every line of his, in prospective scripts with a fine tooth comb. He can change any lines he wishes and for once, I agree that he should be able to. He would be without doubt, the BEST BOND VILLAIN PERFROMANCE EVER.

I think he could give us another Kamal Khan-type villain if he wanted to. If he did that well, he could be quite memorable.

Having already played the villain in Johnny English, I don't think the Bond producers would want to copy the copiers.

I love Malkovich, and agree he makes a wonderful villain - and therein lies the problem. Rather than get an all ready typecasted actor to play a villain (Malkovich, Rickman, Oldman, Sutherland, etc.) who's played every villain under the sun, I'd rather they got someone who doesn't normally play the bad guy to take on Bond. Someone once suggested Tom Hanks, which I think is a fantastic idea, or even someone like John Cusack, Ray Liotta, Val Kilmer or Ian McKellan. (Not necessarily any of those actors, just as examples.)

Very good point Cat, I did not think of that one. It could spark another "following, not leading" discussion andf whatnot. Even so, something as trvial as that may not deter them if they're determined on the idea.

I hadn't realised Malkovich had been a villain in Jonhny English, as I haven't seen it. But then again, Donald Pleasence played many villains before You Only Live Twice - so too had Telly Savalas, Christopher Lee and Robert Carlyle.

But compare Johnny English to James Bond.
