Devin Zydel (aka: Qwerty) has very kindly written for you all here at CBn a 2 part article on Ian Fleming's Short Storys...

This week, part 2: Octopussy & The Living Daylights

Please read his article from CBn's Main Page ---> Saying it all: "Octopussy & The Living Daylights"

Another winner Qwerty. Wow, two back to back stories on the main page... Are you taking over CBn? :)

And nice work on the images, Athena. You took me by surprise with some of these. The story icon is from a book cover I've never seen! :)

Very nice pictures to add to the article Athena, uncountable thanks!

Thanks, as always Zencat, easily a very interesting and fun article to do for CBn, hope everyone enjoys this part 2 of the short story collection of Ian Fleming. :)

Are you really only 16, Qwerty? You write as well or better than some professionals I've worked with in the journalism business and are a credit to the ever-growing features CBn puts out consistently these days.

And I will also echo Zencat's praise of Athena's graphics work. The images from the serialized Playboy stories are among the strongest Bond artwork there is and it's great to share them with fans who may not have seen them.

Turn, that is a compliment that I truly appreciate, very, very kind of you!

I'm truly glad you enjoyed this article, and I think because I enjoyed writing it, that I think and hope it went off well.

Thanks Four Aces, hope they make good reading! Excellent time!

Any article with TLD in it is always great :)

You do write well qwerty, although the very last parahgraph is a bit cluttered.
I wish most people could write as well as you. I find "enlish like dis to be annoying because there is no punctuation and sometimes words are spelt wrong and it just becaomse hard to read and usually it isnt worth it". :)

Another excellent article from Qwerty, with terrific graphics from Lady Athena, and my night is made!

Very good work Q.

Excellent job, Qwerty. Looks like I'll have to make sure my DAF article stands up to the high standards you've made here. :)

The article is good at breaking down and critiquing the three short stories, but I would have liked to have seen something on the history of them included as well. This compilation of stories is a different situation than "For Your Eyes Only". Here, each story was individually written at various points of Fleming's Bond career.

"The Living Daylights" was originally titled "Berlin Escape" and was written in 1962, the same year as "The Spy Who Loved Me" and, of course, the beginning of the film series.

"The Property of a Lady" was a story that took place before "The Man with the Golden Gun." Bond is questioned by secret service security upon his miraculous return from the Japan job. The name Maria Freudenstein, a known double-agent, is brought up and it is revealed that she's dead.

The pictures were a nice touch.

No idea right now. Between work and another writing project I'm doing it will probably be sometime in the summer. :)

You can always read over and over again, and many other Bond authors, always something! :)
