Casting a new DAF

Say that some punk writer updated the DAF script, for use in today's Vegas. You know -- Bond mountaineering around outside Stratosphere, a light airplane chase under the Fremont Street Experience, etc.
If we stipulate Brosnan as Bond, who would co-star?
Catherine Zeta Jones as Tiffany Case?
Gary Oldman as Blofeld?
Jennifer Love Hewitt as Plenty O'Toole?
David Thewlis and Alan Rickman as Wint and Kidd?
Brad Pitt as Felix Leiter?
and Bill Murray as Willard Whyte?
Just a thought ...

I'll pretend I didn't hear you say that ...Why not a new Bond story that takes place partially in Vegas? The Brosnan films have been recycling locales already so why remake one of the worst 007 outings?

NAH! NAH! NAH! I can't hear you! NAH! NAH! NAH! I'm not listening!I'm sorry but compared to Sean's '62-'67 films it falls short. It still has it's moments but it's not one of my favorites...I do think Las Vegas is a dramatically different location now than the 1971 version we saw in DAF.
btw, I'd love to see Bill murray in a Bond film.

I could definitely imagine her in a bikini. She could show as much cheek as she liked. Talk about a nice little nothing that she'd almost be wearing.Zeta Jones would make a neat Tiffany Case though!

She could be a fine independent Bond girl, but not as alike Jinx in Die Another Day.

I agree with Bing on Crispin as Wint, and Elton John as Kidd.

Denis Leary as Leiter and Patrick Stewart as Blofeld!I'd cast Denis Leary as Felix Leiter(he & Pierce had great chemistry in Thomas Crown), Pam Anderson as Plenty O'Toole(Jennifer Love Hewitt really isn't stacked enough to fill Lana Wood's top), Clint Black as Willard Whyte, Patrick Stewart as Blofeld, Angelica Bridges as Tiffany Case,
I agree with Bing on Crispin as Wint, and Elton John as Kidd.
Those are some INSPIRED choices, my friend! Congrats.
And, chandlerbing, please ... Angie Everhart? You ought to be buried in a drainage pipe. See, there's a REASON her career isn't stellar, and it isn't because she's got too much talent.

Blofeld: Daniel Benzali
Felix Leiter: Gary Sinise
Plenty: Brooke Burke
Wint & Kidd: Mathew Broderick and Nathan Lane
And Yes, yes, YES, Yesss, yesssss: Bill Murray as Willard White.
The heck with saving Brosnan's job lets start a Bill Murray for Willard White campaign. That would be perfect.

I posted this idea in the Remaking The Classic's Thread in the Bond 22 and Beyond board.
Ian Fleming's Diamonds Are Forever
James Bond: Gerard Butler
Tiffany Case: Lucy Liu
Serrafimo Spang: James Gandolfini
Kidd: David Hyde Pierce
Wint: Steve Buscemi
Moneypenny: Elizabeth Hurley
M: Patrick Stewart
Q: Kelsey Grammer
Felix Leiter: Scott Lawrence (Cmdr Turner on JAG)
James Bond follows a diamond smuggling ring suspected of funding terroristic activities to Africa where he encounters a hardcase named Peter Franks who is an important cog in the machinery. After a challenging fight in a diamond mine, Bond kills Franks and takes his identity, from there he goes to Holland where he meets
Tiffany Case and they smuggle the diamonds to Las Vegas in a shipping container of glass art work and Showgirl head-dresses. Once in Vegas Bond runs afoul of Serrafimo Spang an Italian mobster whose Spangled Gang has Vegas in an iron grip. Thru his criminal activities Spang has grasped controlling interests in various defense contractors in the LV that have developed powerful laser technology. Spang plans to launch killer satellites to ring the earth "like a sparkling necklace of death". These satellites will hunt and destroy anyothers in earth orbit. Giving Spang a monoply on the aerospace satellite industry. Anyone who wants a satellite in orbit will have to pay him to "rent the space". The film climaxes with Bond battling Kidd and Wint on the sloping sides of the Luxor Casino pyramid and Spang impaled on the spire of his own killer satellite.
But If you making a complete remake of DAF using Mankiewicz's script then:
James Bond: Gerard Butler
Tiffany Case: Charlize Theron
Ernst Stavro Blofeld: Patrick Stewart
Willard Whyte: Garth Brooks
Plenty O'Toole: Nikki Cox (TV show Las Vegas, "But of course she is.")
Mister Wint: Steve Buscemi
Mister Kidd: David Hyde Pierce
M: Sam Neill
Moneypenny: Elizabeth Hurley
Q: John Cleese
