With the legal action described, it's no wonder I had never heard of it before, too bad though, I would have loved to hear how she did the songs, without the constraints of the main title sequences, and in her own way.

And I'm suprised that no-one has mention the Bond cover album by Shirley Bassey. Called The Bond Collection - The 30th Anniversary it was released in 1992 and has Shirley belting out the following:
Alas it would appear that the CD is out of print. Unless Britannia Music Club are still trying to offload it on punters like me ...
- A View To A Kill
- Nobody Does It Better
- From Russia With Love
- We Have All The Time In The World
- You Only Live Twice
- Diamonds Are Forever
- Live And Let Die
- Moonraker
- For Your Eyes Only
- All Time High
- Thunderball
- Goldfinger
I must admit that I haven't listened to the CD for years (since I first bought it in 1992 even though it's taking up space on my MP3 player. I'll listen to it tomorrow so any questions let me know ...

I recently burned to CD. It's fun. The originals go for quite a few bucks when they pop up on Ebay.

The original (from the 30th Anniversary Best Of Bond 2-disc Collection) is slightly shorter at 3 minutes and 9 seconds but is far superior.
The version on the Shirley Bassey Bond Collection is very (and I do mean VERY) sythn based. In fact the track is just basically Shirley and some bloke on a very tuneless keyboard. In fact I think it could be the same bloke who used to sit in the main shopping centre precinct in Southampton (in all weathers) playing his 20 year old Yamaha organ one finger at a time. But only when he wasn't howling at the moon ...

Still, I'm now very curious to hear this one, along with all the others now.

Since the CD has been withdrawn could I copy it for someone and not be prosecuted if I did not charge for it?
Sub-hypthetical question: could I do that for any CD?
Just curious ...

In a case where a CD goes out of print, the rights get transfered from the record label holder and probably revert back to the composer or the studio (or music artist/band). An out of print CD would still have a copyright holder.Hypothetical question scenerio ...
