What's interesting is that it features the 007 from the Penguin re-releases (and now being reused on the comic strip reissues)as well as the title in the DAD font. And the picture rocks!

This could very well be, as that 007-Logo is on the recent German edition as well (and I know for sure that publisher Heyne got this Logo from IFP: they had used another one in the original cover designs and had to change it before the books were finally published).

As to the lanuage: yes, Finnish, most definitely.

I don't think the cover is that great. It reminds me of a pulp cover but not in a good way. (The new US Penguin editions of the Fleming books are the maybe the best Bond covers I've ever seen.)

Besides isn't the villain The Man with the RED Tattoo? That tattoo has a rainbow of colors.

Didn't Raymond mention that the tattoo was changed to red in order to suite the new titile? Perhaps this cover was made before before the swtich of the tattoo but had the nre titile?

Getting a complete set of Bensons in German (all editions) is quite easy: Those two, TWINE, DAD and three different covers of TND (one of them hardcover) - done. Which reminds me: I still need to get TFOD. It's on eBay quite often, but I always let it pass, maybe because those two are my least favourite covers as well. I have ZMT only because it came with a Gardner I needed. Shame on me . You won't belived me, but here in France, they translated all the novel until High Time To Kill, but forgot Doubleshot ! then they published Never Dream of Dying. I heard news from the fench club james bond that they were planned but no news recently. Too bad beacuase the story of doubleshot seems very interesting.
