Interested in reading members' views on the best and worst of the Bond short stories, by all authors (I write "all", but I'm not sure that anyone but Fleming and Benson wrote Bond short stories).
I've only read the Flemings, myself - "Quantum of Solace" and "Octopussy" being overwhelmingly my favourites (in that order).

I absolutely love the short stories and am doing an article on the Fleming's ones for now for CBn.
The best in my view are Octopussy, Risico, and The Hildebrand Rarity, although I truly love every one of them.

"The Hildebrand Rarity" - yes, that's another corker.

Thanks Loomis, I really hope you enjoy it, as it's my first 'real' article about a specific Ian Fleming novel(s), that I've done in a while.
I might start a thread sometime soon, so as to use as a representation of the favorite of all the short stories from the members of CBn, if forced to choose just one.

“The Living Daylights” has always been my favourite. It seemed to sum up James Bond all in one compact situation.

I'm with Asterix: TLD really is a cool mini story, offering alot of insight into the character.
Hell, they are all good!

Really like them all a lot. "Octopussy", "The Living Daylights", "Risico", "Quantum of Solace" and "The Hildebrand Rarity" are most favored, while "From A View To A Kill", "For Your Eyes Only" and "The Property of A Lady" are lesser joys IMO.

the worst of Fleming's would have to be A View to a Kill............ I like all the rest though....

From A View to a Kill, works, but not on the level of some of his other ones I feel. What can I say though, I love it, as I do with all the short stories.
It has a rather fast pace, that I think soemtimes gets ahead of itself in the story, thus making such scenes as Bond's conversations seem just there, and not integral to the story.
Still, a great read.
