Just a discussion thread for Tim007's quick news link.

I doubt the veracity of it, though, especially since Michelle Yeoh and not Lucy Liu starred in Tomorrow Never Dies.

Well if we can speculate on all the Brosnan is not going to be in Bond 21 news, then surely that "He also confirmed he would be making one more appearance in his fifth James Bond film due out next November." requires some discussion.

When and where did this supposed announcement take place?

Is this just a hatch together of old quotes and comments?

It's popped up at Hello! as well, too.

But it's a bit contradictory... it opens with "Despite his immediate future as 007 being still in the balance", but later states, "This latest episode will be the handsome Irish actor's last."

Clearly Brosnan considers that he might still be Bond, or I doubt he would be making any suggestions about potential Bond girls - rather than just stating it was no-longer any of his business. But it is still so irksome as to why we still don't know whether any of this is gospel.

Have Brosnan and Eon fallen out?
Is Brosnan Bond 21?
Is production faltering?
Is it all ticking along nicely?
Is this Brosnan generating marketing buzz for his new film?
Is this Eon generated marketing buzz for the new Brosnan computer game?
Is this all a big marketing ploy to get pre-production buzz for Bond 21?
Are we playing along?

What is going on?
And why won't they tell us what is going on?
And when will they tell us what is going on?
And who should we believe when they tell us what is going on?
Is anything going on, or is it all in my head?
The voices, the voices, when will they stop?

The thing is he did say something in previous interviews about how if he did a fifth film it would be his last and that he would take the roll if offered.

Now... if you twisted those things, what he said could be turned into what these 2 articles are "claiming".

Kiera Knightley would be a great Bond girl...in about ten years from now. My vote for the next Bond girl would be Monica Belluci. She's in her late thirties and would be perfect for Brosnan's Bond.

Brosnan has wanted Belluci way back since TND, she should be the next Bond girl, Knightly can be one later, she's too young, ok Pike in DAD was young also, 22 or something, but Knightly needs a few more years on her, probabley be a good Bond girl for the next James Bond actor.

It'll be quite a crime to not use Belluci.

Belluci is more sexier and a great actress to go with it, blow away Halle Berry, she's more likeable and happens to be a great actress, use her noW!!!

I must admit that Belluci, for the constant notices and rumors she's had, does also look good for the role in a Bond film. Although I'm not crazy about that picture of her from the Matrix.

Keira Knightley will be a perfect Bond girl. Loved her in PIRATES OF THE CARRIBBEAN! She's British too. But I heard she's real young! Like 19 or 18 years old. Do you think she'll stand a dramatic age difference with Brosnan?

Pike was less than half of Brosnan's age in Die Another Day, so I don't think they would mind the age difference a huge bit.

The thing about Pike though, she has this old soul look about her that makes you forget she's that young, 22 or 23 in DAD, 19 for Knightly or 20 is still pushing it. Knightly has a college like look to her, she's got a great face, but pretty thin in the chest area, just think it's bit weird, 30 year age gap to Brosnan! Pike had the body to match her face, Knightly I like, but if you put her in a swim suit, she'll look very school girl like in comparison to Pike.

Rosamund Pike looked mature enough to carry the role in DAD, despite her age. Kiera Knightley looks very young. I'm sorry, but I don't think any on screen relationship between Brosnan and Knightley would work. It would have shades of Roger Moore and Lynn Holly Johnson in FYEO, and in that film Bond wouldn't even sleep with the girl.

I say the campaign for Monica Belluci for Bond 21 (should Pierce do it that is) starts here.

Monica Belluci, she just holds the screen with sex appeal, elegance, beauty, widsom, she's got everything, would be a crime if Bond producers overlooked her this time.

Never has a truer word been spoken. She has elegance and the right amount of European beauty to be a Bond girl.

Didn't we already go through the Keira Knightley as Bond girl rumors last year? :)

Plus wouldn't 50 year-old Pierce seem like a pedophile to have a romantic interest in 19 year-old Keira?

I agree. I don't want Brosnan to look like a child molester.

Monica Belluci looks hot, but she acted pretty corny in THE TEARS OF THE SUN with Bruce Willis.

Belluci was much better in Brotherhood of the Wolf than in Tears of the Sun or Matrix Reloaded.

Knightly is too young to star alongside Brosnan. Belluci (at 39, to my knowledge) would have a far better screen chemistry you would have thought.

The lucky bugger would be her husband Vincent Cassel. He's one of the top actors in France and has appeared in flicks like LA HAINE, BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF, THE CRIMSON RIVERS and IRREVERSABLE.

Yeah, Bellucci's got "it." European charm and Serena Williams' curves. :)

She could be the villain of BOND 21(and/or BOND 22) and I'd root for her.

Of course Brosnan would want someone like Knightley. If I was the actor portraying James Bond, I would want to pick the Bond girls who were really hot. :)
