I'm reading Moonraker now, and really i don't seen the novel, i see pierce Brosnan and Rosmund Pike as Gald Brand...which is kinda strange, everything almost from this book has been put in to die another day, so if we are to continue gutting novels (which works, and if it works keep it up cos i have to have my bond fix) then whats next? how about 'The Facts of Death.' its modern, good for moving from novel to script... and takes bond to some FYEO locations etc, even brings him to the US which we haven't been in a long time, but the plot maybe a little to hurt for with the 9/11 crap still going though its been years since the attacks, i think we could make it work...OR since they're always trying to get in the psycie of bond 'Nobody lives forever.' its never been done on screen for bond, that would be good maybe change the locations and you'd have a damn good movie that bat stuff, the chases, killings, etc...good stuff

EON has gutted most of the novels, even those that haven't been "officially" filmed. I'd like to see Nobody Lives Forver as a film since it's my favorite Gardner novel. I love the idea of SPECTRE offering a bounty on Bond's head. But it probably wouldn't work on film because SPECTRE obviously can't be used and it's more of a personal story and not Secret Service-related.

"The Facts of Death" is an interesting choice because it has the flow of an EON James Bond film. I've always thought it Benson's best or second best.
"Nobody Lives Forever" is my favorite Gardner novel and it has a fast paced, brisk storyline, but as Turn said above, the most important ingredient, SPECTRE's final all out attack on Bond would most likely not be included.

How about Casino Royale?????
How about doing CR next and then do "remakes" of the movies but in the order of the novels. If Spectre/Blofeld are a legal problem make up a new organization and leader.
If not that: take the Garden of Death and Shatterhand from YOLT and you have the fine nucleaus of a plot.

I'd love to see the Garden of Death and Dr. No's obstacle course make it into the films perhaps.

LOL I'm sure they would change it around if they ever filmed it, but I'd like to see the general idea of it sometime perhaps in the future, could make for an interesting finale.

Well, I think I'd like the giant squid if it was done well - which it wouldn't be, so we might as well forget it. I'd like to see the books mined really deeply.
On the list for material, we've got:
Casino Royale
Live and Let Die
Moonraker (Some of it was used in DAD, but there's other stuff here too)
Diamonds Are Forever
You Only Live Twice
The Man With The Golden Gun
That's quite a lot of stuff to look at for inspiration, and I honestly hope that they do, YOLT especially. YOLT is perhaps the finest Bond novel and it's a pity that a serious adaptation wasn't done.

The real tragedy of YOLT being that it had one of the best (in my opinion) final confrontations between a hero and villain, and it was never used - and while it still could be - it wouldn't have the same impact as it did with Bond and Blofeld.
But the garden of death could still be used, as could Dr. No's obstacle course - minus the squid - but what else?
How about the Spang gang from DAF? Lol, who wouldn't want them to use the name Serrafimo Spang in the next movie?
Also, the plot of TMWTGG is drastically different from the movie...they could easily re-adapt that.

I think they could easily twist around with the plot from The Man With The Golden Gun, granted it's not the best one of the novels, but I still feel it really is better than normally thought of and would be interested to see what they could do with the balance of it.

Most fans seem to think YOLT the novel deserves an adaptation.
They should do it nad the villain should be Shatterhand.
Why can't they do it so that Shatterhand is Blofeld: nevre say the dreaded "B" word or the "S" word organization.
Maybe there's some dialogue:
Bond:Your organization is just a ghost now, "Shatterhand".
Shatterhand: (Laughin) It always was Mr. Bond, it always was.
