Hi all,

I have always heard from fellow fans that
Dalton has a very very brief cameo in one of the Roger Moore Bond films.

Can anyone verify or deny this?

You may already know, but apparently
Ian Fleming appears very briefly in From Russia with Love, although this is still
debated.

No jokes about Dalton being in the background either please. (Xenobia/Jim)!

Mister Asterix (27 Apr, 2002 04:26 p.m.):
I classify this as an urban legend.

You mean there's some deep under lying meaning?

Urban Legends:
Guy with hook - Don't have pre-marital sex.
Axe guy - always check the back seat of your car.
Dog In microwave - use a towel!

Maybe for this it could be: Being in another actor's Bond film and then becoming Bond will mean that you will be less successful than them.

BTW, anyone seen 'Urban Legend'? Great film.

I've never heard of this before. Sounds interesting, though.

Where did you hear this at?

I'm 99.9 percent sure this isn't true. If it were, it would be part of Bond lore and we would have especially heard about it when Dalton was announced as Moore's successor.

There isn't some confusion with Charles Dance (played Fleming, approached to do Bond) is there?

Yes! The Living Daylights :) Acutally, I was just thinking (rare occurence) about how the Pushkin/Bond scene in The Living Daylights was changed from a chat over wine, to a hostage situation for Dalton. I'd jsut like to point out to those who think this is more 'real' than the wine scene: it isn't. Real spies don't wave guns in the faces of enemy (or friendly) generals--they'll be in a trouble. The 'Moore approach' is a lot more real in that a 'real spy' would chat Pushkin up until they'd found out about Koskov's fake SMERSH operation. Then again, he was sent to kill Pushkin, so... But Pushkin was his 'friend', so...

Well, just defending Moore only to end up confusing myself! ;D

I've heard some people say they've seen him briefly in Never Say Never Again, but not in a Moore film.

I don't think any Bond has appeared in another's Bond film. I've never heard of it until now, but stil, there is always that slight chance, after all, Rowan Atkinson seems to be doing it, appearing in NSNA he is doing his own spy film 'Johnny English'. Thanks to whoever told CBN this, it isn't news to die for but any news is good news. After all, "There's no news, like bad news!"

I seriously doubt that this is true. We would have heard of it and especially myself, being a reader of Bond fact and trivia books. I can't ever recall it being in any of them.
I suspect it's just a rumour.
