On my Dossier page, there is this dumb entry "James Bond's licence to kill number: 007" - I didn't know what it was good for, and I've already tried to delete it, but I am not able to.
It just looks so stupid. I'd rather have it not there, because no-one else seems to have it on his Dossier.
I hope this request is not too annoying...

Not an annoying question at all. Entering the '007' is mandatory. If you don't do it, you can't register. This may not be the perfect thread for my request, but I think it is better to post it here than search elsewhere or let alone create a new thread:

It's a little anti-spam trick: If you don't know James Bond's license to kill number, the systems assumes that you're either not here to discuss James Bond, or that you are a spambot - a stupid machine that can't answer a simple question .
The amount of mass spam has significantly decreased since this was implemented. But there's still a lot of crap coming in from IP addresses in Sri Lanka or Pakistan, which is added manually, by real people. Unfortunately, there's only one way to eliminate this: manually. Keeping the eyes open to find spam signatures (seems to be the latest trend), being alert when a thread from, say, 2004 suddenly pops up for no apparent reason. Looking for threads with names of current blockbusters by new members with names like 'hulguu369' etc. etc.

Yeah, I was wondering about the 007 thing as well. I guess it was added to mine automatically to mine (I've been here for almost seven years. I mean, come on we all know that Bonds number is không không bảy. I mean, duh.

If total username changes are not possible, is it okay to re-register with a second account? My reasons are similar to Ozzman's; I'd like to be known by one username across the internet. I'm a member of several forums and I'm known by many different usernames, and it's getting a bit hard to remember all of them, especially on websites that I don't frequent that often.
Is there any answer to this? I would like to unify my screen name with other accounts.

unlike some i'm not afraid to share my age. yes my 26th birthday was this weekend and i spent it on a james bond forum, which may be why i've been such a grouch.
Fret not; the way you express yourself is keeping you young.
About nine years old, I'd say. Perhaps eight.

Hmm.
Answering the question, I think "not". You're an absolutely delicious scrumblenumpkin and I want you to stay exactly as you are. Happy Valentine's Day.

I've been 00-FAN008 since the early '00s and have been on official leave from MI6 for longer than I can remember. But in true You Only Live Twice fashion, I think it's about time I began my second life on CommanderBond.Net.
Suggested name change: Rembrandt007
Much thanks if this can be accomplished in whatever time frame possible. No pressure!

I think only the MODs can change names and they don't really give a s$#^ if we'd like to thus my seconded account. I understand it can be a pain in the butt if 20 people want to change their names but it doesn't seem like that many people are interested in doing so. Perhaps they should update the help main regarding the name changes.
I not sure but I think MODs can also change their post counts, I only think this because some people have crazy post counts but don't seem to post much although they may have been here for ten years.

Hi. I'm mostly known in other forums as Makeshift Python, thus I would like my username to be changed to that. I don't have much of a history here beyond that old MI6forum thread where members from the olde Keeping the British End Up refuged every time the old site was down. Plus, I'm more likely to be recognized by the "Makeshift Python" moniker anyway, so familiarity helps.
Thanks.
