I have the Fleming novels, and the three-volume set of DVDs. I would like to purchase some type of anthology/compendium that summarizes the whole Bond thing.

Any recommendations? I hear the Essential Bond is quite good. What do you think is the best?

Oooh, there's lots!! I'd recommend if you want a nice big coffee table book, to get:

James Bond: The Legacy by John Cork and Bruce Schivally

*Movies* Only: The James Bond Encyclopedia by Steven Jay Rubin.

There are hundreds more I own that I could list for ya. PM me with any thoughts! :)

BTW, The Essential Bond is a good one!

Ah, here's some more I thought of when looking through mine:

The Bond Files

Bond Films by Virgin Books *Films Only*

For Your Eyes Only: Behind the Scenes of the James Bond films by David Giammarco. *Films Only*

These are just some others to check out. :)

I strongly suggest the Bond Files, very excellent compilation of information.

I swear by the James Bond Bedside Companion by Raymond Benson and Bond Women 007 Style by Tim Greaves. Both are extremely detailed and informative.

The latter book doesn't have any pictures, but I think we can remember what the girls look like without them.

The Bond Files has been my most read book ever. I use it as my Bond bible. Great to dip into to entertain yourself or to look up something.
It seems to be the standard amongst most fans around here too.

You definitely won't be disappointed by it.

For Your Eyes Only: Behind the Scenes of the James Bond films by David Giammarco.

Saw that one the other day; what's it like?

Oh, and I recommend The Legacy, by John Cork and Bruce Scivally. If that's a little too pricey [it does focus on the films], then Martinis, Girls and Guns: 50 Years of 007 cannot be beat. It is a fascinating read that spends equal time on the books and the films by two men who clearly know their stuff. Highly recommended.

It's not bad, some very nice reading, with the real meat of the book concentrating the most pages on the Brosnan films. This guy did do some good research.

Recommended.
