In the past, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment had distributed the films, many containing information on both Fox and MGM films.
In a week's time, this change will come into effect down under, as MGM re-releases a number of DVDs from its catalogue under the new banner.
What does the change mean? Different pricings [though the changes shouldn't be too severe], changes to cover art [again, nothing major] and even alterations to special features and visual and audio specs.
February 11th sees two Bond films re-released: Never Say Never Again [at the low price of $14.95] and Die Another Day [for just $24.95].
The Bond films seem relatively unaffected by the changes, unlike some others. Whilst details are still unknown about the changes to the catalogue, it seems some films, such as The Terminator, are becoming one-disc editions, unless MGM becomes the first studio in my memory to lower its prices for two-disc sets to $14.95.
