Have you noticed that some of the leading female characters in Gardner's novels are named after flowers and trees?
Lavender
Cedar
Heather
Clover
(Any more?)
I wonder if Garder took this notion from THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN? I remember there was that Jamaican girl who claimed her all sisters had been named after flowers.
BTW, sometimes Gardner doesn't even bother inventing new names!
A Heather Dare is mentioned in THE NOSTRADAMUS TRAITOR.
Morover, the name of a certain supporting MALE character Johnny Brassier (i'm not sure about the right spelling, cause I can't check it now) appears in two books - NBLF and WLOD. In both cases this is a different man.

Doesn't he also change the first name of his "new Leiter" Mr Wolkowsky? (not sure about spelling, can't be bothered to check)
Good call on the flower thing, though. Hadn't twigged that.

I've never read Scorpius. But I know his name's mentioned also in LTK. Kinda unusual thing, considering the fact that SCORPIUS is a novel, while LTK is just a novelization. Wolkowsky seems to be the only Gardner's character which has appeared in a Bond novel AND in a novelization. Two different worlds, basically not crossing each other.

Doesn't Wolkowsky's name change from Dave to Steve?
