Last night Oprah Winfrey had a happy b-day special love-in on her show. Seems like every celebrity on earth is her "best friend" (?). Anyway, Halle Berry gave her a video card in 'Cat Women' attire and camped it up...Now, it seemed like she was doing a variation on a strip act and phone sex! I don't know what she was thinking but it was extremely inappropriate! For two reasons: It's Oprah's B-day and the b-day wish should be genuine and not an opportunity to PROMOTE your forthcoming movie and Oprah is not a guy(or Lesbian) and therefore wouldn't be turned on by this; she also is an avid CHICK movie watcher and does not watch or promote action movies anymore, only films she likes herself and I doubt she will want to see 'Catwomen'. I was embarrassed for Halle Berry(and I'm not a fan of her and I hated her Jinx character). I think Cat Women is gonna be the disaster on 2004 and sure thing at next years Razzies. Thank God Jinx was canceled! :) :) :)

Anyone see that? :)

No, I haven't seen this, but I'm not at all surprised that Berry would do something like this. She seems to want to do anything that'll put the spotlight on her.

No complaints here if she just disappeared into Hollywood oblivion...

I agree. I had a post in another thread on why I dislike her so much. Add this to the list. I hope that movie tanks.

Oh, I so agree. Look at that costume! Why not just turn it into a ****ing pørno, for chrissakes!

Not that the character was all that fascinating enough to give her her own movie in the first place...

I predict (hope): one by one, all of these Halle Berry projects will flop and soon she won't be in the title roles anymore.

God forbid it'll succeed, what's next--she'll put on weight and we'll have The Penguin Motion Picture?

For goodness sake give the woman a freaking break. I give her props for actually getting the roles which are hard to come by in Hollywood. Other than that, I don't buy the "She's trying to be in the spotlight", You're entitled to your opinion of course as I am entitled to mine .DAM IT MAN the spotlight is coming to her. Not bad for a person who's legally deaf. I do hope, (in all truth, it probably needs a prayer) the Catwoman movie succeed, and I do hope she continue in her success. I forgive Halle Berry for Jinx, but I can't forgive Madonna for her cameo appearance, and believe me Madonna did worst things for her friends' birthday. Halle didn't freaking write the character role herself, she just acted the way she knew how, IMO it was too easy for her, her character should have been a villain. (Oh not to be a villain, so she would be killed off, as some would probably quote). BTW, the only person that I know Oprah is probably not best friends with is David Letterman.

Sorta like Michael Caine filming JAWS: THE REVENGE after winning an Oscar for HANNAH AND HER SISTERS. :)

In light of her recent trend of getting hurt on set, sounds like she doesn't need a break from us, she's doing fine attempting to get a "break" all by herself. :)

In case you forgot, em, Tarl, there has been many notable actors and actresses who had won Oscars and starred in movies that were total flops afterwards. Nobody's Perfect. Note that I've written I hope that Catwoman succeeds (though, it may need a Prayer)

Yeah, and therefore she's a real trooper. Of course she's doing fine attempting to get broken all by herself it's expected because of her medical history. But of course you would already know that.

Absolutely. Anjolina Jolie, Nic cage and Hillery Swank to name a few...I don't care if she wants to make some big money but this Catwoman thing looks like it could be really bad...career killing type of bad.

You know what Tarl, though you did hit on something about her Career. It's not Catwoman I'm really worried about, but there was talk that she decided not to be Storm in the Next X-Men movie. Now that action I would find questionable, and is a very risky move, probably more riskier than starring in Catwoman. Catwoman - there's two things that Berry needs to avoid while doing this 1- mimicking Eartha Kitt (there's only one Eartha, I pray she doesn't try to emulate Eartha Kitt, Newmar or Pfieffer Catwoman, she can get away with Lee Meriwhether, but she has to come up with her own style.) 2-The character resembling too much like Jinx.
Arnold survived the Last Action Hero, Shaq survived steel (thank goodness he went back to the NBA), George Clooney survived Batman and Robin (Never liked him until I saw Ocean 11). The Ultimate Ultimate last person to survive and who's still surviving Kevin Costner-WaterWorld and the Postman (He did got himself on track with Tin Cup). Some fall real real hard, and then they pick themselves right back up again. And if all else fails, - they work behind the scenes. I don't think Berry would totally f'ed-up the role, if its written well.

X-men has a great part for her and it's a classy popcorn series so I'd be really dissapointed if she jumped ship.

As for Costner, I liked Waterworld! It's a guilty pleasure! :)

While she had reservations about continuing the role after X2, Lauren Schuler-Donner was quoted as saying that they would do everything in their power to get her back.

My beef with the Storm character is that she really isn't given much to do in both movies. Granted she was the leader of the X-Men thru the late 80s early 90s but this character doesn't stand out in this ensemble. I won't even go into that wig she's wearing(give her white cornrows or something). Granted playing Storm would be a paycheck but it's not like she needs it if she's just going to be wallpaper.

If she doesn't come back, I'd say re-cast the role with Thandie Newton.

I don't like Berry as an actress (and hated Jinx).
She has said that she didn't care for comics or X-Men, so the movie is just a paycheck without any passion for the role.

Robinson : you made a good suggestion by replacing her with Thandie Newton :)

And on that whole birthday thing : great idea :) indeed only to promote her film I'd say.

EDIT : I found the video for the performance online : http://hallewood.com...AN-ON-OPRAH.RAM

The Catwoman movie is looking to be one of the worst films of all time. I'm a fan of Catwoman too, but Halle Berry was not the right choice, and from what I know of the plot and have seen of the film, THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO SUCK.

Poor, poor Halle Berry. She's honestly not that bad an actress (though her performance in DAD says otherwise). She could be doing good things right now! She needs to learn how to pick and choose her projects...
