Did anyone catch the Golden Globes the other night?
If so, you would have no doubt seen Carey Lowell (LTK's Pam) sitting with Richard Gere, looking as radiant as ever.
In perhaps a subconcious 007 tribute, she raised her wine glass to the camera and flashed that dazzling smile.
Ms. Lowell is definitely my fave Bond girl of all time, she has a natural, down-to-earth quality about her, and seems like a genuinely nice person (unlike many plastic Hollywood bimbos out there). And at 43 she still looks a gorgeous as ever.

Cheers, Carey! :)

She looked even better than she did in LTK! Positively radiant!

Yeah she looked great! Pierce was the best thing on the stage that night (damn, he looked yummy!) and she was one of the more interesting faces in the audience.

When you read about the making of LTK (or watch interviews or "making of" segments on it), everyone on the set gushes over Carey. You hear stories about how all the guys on the crew were all just madly in love with her; it was the combination of her looks and her personality that made everyone fall for her. Interesting that she was the only cast member who managed to really befriend Dalton and encourage him to loosen up and party more than he otherwise would have. Apparently she managed to wear down his barriers (tho he and Robert Davi had a lot of fun doing informal sessions of Shakespeare, Dylan and Blake). On the documentary produced by Maryam D'Abo, she says of Dalton "I adored him." And on one interview I have of Dalton, he says of her "She was my beautiful buddy on that set, she kept me sane."

She looked great. I did also notice the wine glass raise and I thought it was a Bond reference too-cool! :) I can't fault Gere for divorcing Cindy Crawford since he ended up with one of my favorite bond girls too. :) That scene when she enters the room after a make over is a show stopper! And, I've been very annoyed by all of these recent Bond girls who say stuff in interviews like " She's the first Bond girl to be an equal...blah blah..she's not a damsel in distress like ALL the others before me...". Hey! Did you catch LTK?? Pam was a kick butt babe who was believably human and feminine...and a brave, competent and cunning ally...

Every Bond girl is the first 'Bond woman' and the first 'equal' to Bond.

Just like every film's the greatest, every actor the best and every score the most musical...

You have to love the hype. Really.

Sadly, I missed the awards, but i'm sure someplace has pictures of it, so i'll hunt them down with a google.

Yeah, and I also remember her saying once that out of all the James Bonds there have been, she was glad that she got to play opposite Timothy. She said she learned so much as an actor from him. :)

What I like about Carey's looks in LTK is that she's got a full hourglass figure but it doesn't look like the weird factory job of a Pamela Anderson. This is very unusual in contemporary American and European films -- her figure looks like it typically belongs on the body of a Latin, African or Mediterranean woman (according to commercial *film* norms, that is). I'm rather sick and tired of seeing the parade of stick figures of women on screen, or the stick figures with fake, bulging breasts. Carey actually has a tiny bit of fat on her skin -- amazing thing to see on screen these days!

What you mean, is that she's a 'real' woman.

Yes I like that too, but she had too many 'butch' lines in LTK, kinda ruined things for her character.

Does anyone know why she left Law & Order after only two seasons?

I think she wanted to take some time off and focus on her husband and baby.

I think she was awesome in LTK. The best American Bond girl ever, bar none. When she's on the wavecrest in that tan bathing suit I need a cold shower/beer! :)

Last year my wife and I took our young son to Carnegie Hall for a Chiodrens concert. Who was coming in ahead of us but Carey Lowell, Richard Gere, thier son (maybe 3 years old at the time) and Carey's daughter from her relationship with Griffin Dunne.

The two of them seemed like the most normal couple Gere was carrying the son.

With the exception of being extremely good looking (I agree that Cary is as beautiful if not more so than before) they were like any other family there.
